WWE No Way Out PPV Predictions
Over the Limit was surprisingly solid, until the main event yet again. John Cena vs John Laurinaitis was absolutely pathetic to watch. If they really want Laurinaitis vs Cena, they should have made that a mid-card match and saved the WWE or World Heavyweight Title for last.
How many PPVs now, has the Cena match headlined the main event over the WWE Title match? Unreal. Cena is so far up the ladder in the WWE, he's a champion in his own right. The WWE Title is out of his league at this point.
So the June PPV is called No Way Out. They decided to bring this PPV title back after 3 years. Why? I don't know. Then again, last year's June PPV was a total disaster too. Capitol Punishment... remember that? The only match I'm truly looking forward to here is the WWE Triple Threat Title Match. The rest will more or less be a dud.
Brodus Clay vs David Otunga
Oh look, another pre-show match that no one cares about. They tried making a last minute storyline out of this, but give me a break...
I'm sure you know how RAW has been a Supershow for the past number of months. About a week ago, John Laurinaitis just suddenly decided to "ban" Brodus Clay from RAW, thus moving him to Smackdown. Then on Smackdown, Brodus Clay said he wanted some competition. In a joke, Heath Slater came out only for Brodus to squash him. As he was dancing, David Otunga ambushed him from behind and beat Brodus up.
That's your "story" right there. But since it's on a Pre-Show, you know the face will easily win to get the crowd going.
My Prediction: Brodus Clay wins by pinfall.
Intercontinental Championship Match: Cody Rhodes vs Christian (Intercontinental Champion)
In case you missed it, Christian finally made his return at the Over the Limit PPV last month. He was set to come back before Wrestlemania, but he wasn't ready yet. However, Christian is now 100% healthy and back better than ever. Christian even added a new finishing move, which is a frog splash.
The story here is that Christian returned at last month's PPV, won the battle royal to be the #1 Contender. Everyone thought he was still a heel, so he would pick Santino for the US Title. Instead, he chose Cody Rhodes for the IC Title. Christian defeated Cody and the excuse for Cody was that he wasn't ready to defend the title that night.
Christian explained that he decided to turn face again when he inducted Edge to the Hall of Fame at Wrestlemania. He said he doesn't want to be remembered as the guy who whined about having "ONE MORE MATCH". He wanted to be like his best friend, a WWE Hall of Famer. So that's why Christian is a good guy again!
Cody Rhodes invoked his rematch clause here.
I personally don't think Cody Rhodes will win this one. It's time for him to move on to the World Heavyweight Title picture. Sure, Christian belongs there too... but since Sheamus has the title, it's probably better for Christian to keep the Intercontinental Championship for now. Either way, this match should be pretty entertaining.
My Prediction: Christian retains the Intercontinental Championship via pinfall with the frog splash.
Beth Phoenix vs Layla (Divas Champion)
Wow. Same match from Over the Limit. *Yawn*
Ever since Layla returned, WWE hasn't really given anyone a reason to root for Layla. Then again, the WWE doesn't give anyone a reason to care for the Divas division. Such a shame...
There's really no story here. Beth just wants the title because she is the face of the divas division. Layla wants to retain because she feels she is a worthy champion. Boring. I'll pick Beth Phoenix to win because I want her to. At least that way, we can finally see Kharma return.... right? (Unless WWE loves paying her to do nothing.)
My Prediction: Beth Phoenix wins the Divas Championship by pinfall with the Glam Slam.
Non Title Tuxedo Match: Santino Marella (United States Champion) vs Ricardo Rodriguez
Your eyes are not deceiving you... Ricardo is in a PPV match against Santino. To add further insult to the United States Title, they booked Santino in a Tuxedo Match against a ring announcer.
This match was apparently made after Santino stripped Ricardo on RAW, only to find out that Ricardo was wearing a Justin Bieber shirt under his dress shirt.
This match is going to pretty stupid. I just hope it's shorter than the Divas match... (that won't happen). So I guess you can expect Ricardo Rodriguez to be wearing some kind of Justin Bieber underpants or whatever when he loses.
My Prediction: Santino wins.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Sheamus (World Heavyweight Champion) vs Dolph Ziggler
Poor Alberto Del Rio... he suffered a concussion and had to be taken out of this match. Ziggler won some Fatal Four Way match to become the #1 Contender. I'm a huge fan of Dolph because of his great potential. WWE probably knows it too, but they can't find the right time to give him a title run. They really want to give Sheamus a long title reign, so while the match will be interesting... Ziggler won't win this one.
My Prediction: Sheamus retains the World Heavyweight Championship by pinfall.
Triple Threat WWE Championship Match: Kane vs CM Punk (WWE Champion) vs Daniel Bryan
I'm sure we can all agree that CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan alone is amazing no matter how many times you put them in a match together. When they added Kane to this feud... I originally thought, "Okay, Kane doesn't really fit here." Boy, am I glad I was wrong!
Kane made it even more interesting! But that's because they also added AJ to the mix.
In case you don't know the story here... Daniel Bryan blamed AJ for him losing the World Heavyweight Title to Sheamus at Wrestlemania in 18 seconds. Now keep in mind that AJ was (and still is) in love with Daniel Bryan. She turned stalker-ish and a bit psycho because of the verbal abuse from Daniel Bryan. About a month or two ago, she started taking a liking to CM Punk. Now, AJ is fully decked out in CM Punk gear. To add fuel to the fire, CM Punk said he digs "crazy chicks".
If that's not all, AJ has also taken a liking to Kane. She even made out with him this past Monday on RAW. AJ has said something along the lines of "The best man will walk out of No Way Out as the WWE Champion." The reason why Kane is so interesting in this story as well is that he is (maybe) attracted to AJ. He tried to protect her, only for CM Punk to attack him because Punk thought he was going to harm her.
So while CM Punk and Kane are fighting for/defending AJ, Daniel Bryan sits back and has fun with it.
A few things to keep in mind...
- Every time AJ has tried to help CM Punk or Kane, she has made them lose on accident.
- CM Punk has been the WWE Champion since Survivor Series (November 2011). I think it's about time he dropped the belt.
- Daniel Bryan wants nothing to do with AJ.
So with all that added together... I'm smelling a Daniel Bryan WWE Championship victory at No Way Out. AJ will most likely "screw up" and cost CM Punk the match and help Daniel Bryan win. I also don't think that CM Punk is getting pinned either, since WWE makes great emphasis on the fact that the champ doesn't have to get pinned to lose the title. So expect AJ to do something with Punk and Kane, and it'll confuse Kane to the point where he lets his guard down and takes the fall.
This way, Kane is out of the picture and we can finally have a CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan 1 on 1 match with no interruptions.
My Prediction: Daniel Bryan wins the WWE Championship by pinfall.
Steel Cage Match: John Cena w/Vince McMahon vs Big Show w/John Laurinaitis
If Big Show loses, John Laurinaitis gets fired by Vince McMahon.
If John Cena loses, he gets fired by John Laurinaitis.
Another, "if you lose... you're fired" stipulation. This is getting old. We all know Cena can never get fired. Even when he does, he'll show up every freaking week on RAW! (Remember the Nexus storyline?) Damn it WWE... be a little more creative please. This is pathetic.
Big Show is now a "monster". His excuse for being pathetic the past 14 years in the WWE was because Vince McMahon told him to. Big Show blames Vince in saying that he was forced to be "entertaining" and was not allowed to be the monster he truly is.
One thing that really bugs me about Vince McMahon returning to TV is because it makes no sense. Vince was as corrupt as you can get, character wise. He was relieved of his duties by HHH because he was "unfit" to do so. Then HHH got relieved of his duties by John Laurinaitis because HHH was feuding with Undertaker. Now all of a sudden, Vince McMahon is back to give John Laurinaitis a job evaluation. WTF is going on? Who is "the boss"? I guess Vince always is.
Since we saw a "shocking betrayal" at Over the Limit with Big Show turning on Cena, I highly doubt Vince will turn on Cena here. There really is nothing positive to say about this match. It's a Steel Cage Match. Big Show will probably kick Cena around like Brock Lesnar did at Extreme Rules. But just look for Super Cena to magically win.
My Prediction: John Cena escapes the cage to win.
Also at No Way Out, HHH is scheduled to appear on the show to talk about his lawsuits against Brock Lesnar. This is just to set up their match for Summerslam.
