2K10 first look
First look at 2K10:
"2K10 is meant to be the fruits of two years of labor; not just a one-year quick fix update. "
"every mode that can possibly have multiplayer in it will, and that includes the now multiplayer franchise mode. In addition, all on-ice AI is now tuned with multiplayer in mind, and while the company wouldn't go into specifics on just what that meant I did push them on the drop-in/drop-out concept and they didn't deny it."
"all the player models and overall presentation has been upped and oftentimes redone to make sure it looks like the next step visually"

SOunds good. It's hard to beat the EA juggernaut, but having a simple game could be a good thing to switch back to when you get frustrated with all the ticky tack plays and cheesing that goes on in the EA version.

2k is almost to the point where it's not even worth checking out their demos.
That being said, I'll check it out and hope they get the franchise back on track... They haven't come close to anything decent on the current gen systems (360 and PS3, anyway).

It's interesting that the 2K series is now touting the fact that they are the "simpler" game when they were the ones that pushed the hardcore hockey gamer envelope by striving to create an intricate on-ice(and off-ice) simulation. Remember when they came out with the control scheme that had the Left Trigger modifier? Now they've pulled a 180 and want to be know as the series that brings it back to the "good ol' days." Weird.

Lulz...the good ole' days of NHL 2k5 where it wasn't a question of "if" your dynasty would freeze, but "when".

Not at all, last year's game was a ONE year complete rebuild, now it goes back to the prior team who has been working on it for TWO years.

MP COOP franchise, are we going to have fun as the Kings or what?!
This is from here:
You mentioned multiplayer co-op franchise… what else can we expect?
Mike: We'll I'll have to say it somewhat cryptically, but we're trying to make multiplayer totally seamless and that appiles for online as well. We want something where you can always play with someone else if you want.
IGN: That sounds like you're hinting at drop-in/drop-out play huh?
IGN: I won't make you say yes or no. I know you can't…
Mike: Well yeah. It's basically something where we can break any kind of barrier whether you're online or at home. This is going to be a multiplayer experience for sure. That's number one. Number two is that we're upping the graphics at every turn. We're talking every console, every possible way we can change it… character models, faces, animations; we're building off of 2K9. 2K10 is basically everything we wish we could have done last year, and everything our fans wanted for this version.
