Thread: 4 Month Review of My Xbox 360

when you bought it did you make sure that you purchased the one with the newer process and HDMI (I.E. did you do your homework) or did you just buy whatever was available in the store?

I am on my 3rd. However the only place for mine is in a cabinet which I leave open when I play.

Oh I also bought mine from Costco which I took back got all my money back and bought a new one for $100 less than I originally paid. But they did not let me keep my hard drive so I lost my game saves.. o well.

If I'm not mistaken I think you can move game saves via USB to a flash drive.

That must have sucked to lose the gamesaves. I was screwing around with it and accidentally erased some. Now I have some half played games that I'm contemplating on whether I want to start over or not.

Yeah, I did my research, but they didn't have any available and I didn't feel like waiting. I was fully aware it would die, just didn't think it would happen so quickly.

Also, someone here at work did pick up one of the newer ones (hdmi, new heat sink, etc) around the same time I got mine which he already had to send in for repair a few weeks ago (not RROD, but still)

I was halfway through an NHL08 season, 5 stages into Ace Combat, one assassination into Assassin's Creed, just played one multiplayer session of COD4, and beat Halo 3.

That was not the worst part of the situation.. The worst part was that my local Costco was sold out on 360s and I had to order it online and had to wait a week for a new one during the Thanksgiving weekend.


BTW - Assassin's Creed is great. Just beat it last night.

Not to jump too far off topic but I wanted to put in my .02 on Assassin's Creed.

I expected a great game and got something that fell just a bit short of that but not too far.

The game started so damn slowly for me that I almost quit on it but once Altair got his abilities it got to be a lot more fun. I give it an 8 maybe and 8.5. The slow start took a full point off. It took me 2 days to get the hang of this game.

My favorite part was when I finally got the throwing knives and then I'd rescue citizens by sniping dudes from the rooftops.

That's a nice looking system right there. Does it play any games?

I've had my xbox 360 from the first day they came out and not one problem.
