The next "Band" version of Guitar Hero has already been confirmed as Van Halen. This is after Smash Hits (which is Tuesday), and GH5, which comes out a week before RB:Beatles.
This household was Guitar Hero central for a long time, but ever since we picked up RB2, GH World Tour and the rest have received very little play time. Rock Band did it smart up to this point - all their music can be imported into one game - and right now we have like 300 songs available to us in Rock Band 2 to play. From the looks of it, The Beatles will be COMPLETEY separate, which means for the first time, songs will not be compatible to the basic game. It would be nice to see the songs available in setlists in RB2.
Still, GH has screwed the pooch by keeping all of their content separate. I'd love to put a setlist together of Aerosmith, Metallica and Van Halen all at once Now it takes multiple disc swaps to make it happen. (And only Guitar/Bass on Aerosmith to boot.)
Green Day? I'm neither a huge fan nor a hater of the band, and for the mostpart I like them, but I can't see it being a fun game. Solos aren't very intricate when present and super simple chords. Catchy tunes, boring rock band songs. IMO.
New trailer released yesterday. I'm a bit surprised with some of the songs, but I guess they're trying to represent all four of the Beatles. Enjoy:
The Beatles: Rock Band
I'm probably gonna pick this up, but will probably get the Rock Band 1 setup for 95 bucks and just get the game separate. I ain't spending all that extra money for the special gear.
