    Default Board Games

What Board Games do you play? Just started getting the itch to play them.

Got a couple new ones this past Holiday season.

    1. Qwirkle.... Fun abstract game. Match shapes and colors to earn points.
    2. Ticket to Ride... Even more fun than Qwirkle. Board is a map of USA and southern Canada. Earn points by connecting cities.

Just bought Carcassone... and have Caylus and Ticket to Ride on my iPad/iPhone.

Caylus is pretty heavy duty strategy and takes a long time to play for a iPad game.
Ticket to Ride is fun and quick on iOS. Great presentation.

Can't wait to play Carcassone. I remember I played it on my XBox a couple years back.

Anyway... I am just beginning to get into it. Xbox and Wii are getting less playing time.

I loved nuclear war back decades ago.

Settlers of Catan is an oldie but goodie.

Ticket to Ride looks fun. wish the kids were a little older to be able to play it.

How old are your kids? Played with my 7 and 9 year old. The only problem (or is it learning experience) is them asking where certain cities are and how to pronounce them.

yeah, I can totally see that - they are 4 and 20 months right now haha. a little bit longer and we'll all be playing board games. I really look forward to that. in the meanwhile, if it is on the ipad, the 20 month old would probably figure it out faster than I would.

Ticket to Ride is pretty fun. Settlers of Catan and its expansions can be a ton of fun. My siblings and I have combined each of its expansions as well as the 5-6 player expansions to create a massive game board and created a few of our own rules to make all the additions work. Monopoly is always a classic and if you enjoy it, I recommend Mega Monopoly which has a larger board, more properties and a few little things that make it a bit more interesting than the original. We're fans of more in depth games that can take a while and we love to tweak rules and add stuff to customize games in our own way.
