Oh Damn, that would actually be awesome as an FPS. So would like French and Indian War or American Revolution.

Treyarch made cod3 and United Offensive , the (the add on for the original COD) UO was the best of the the COD series, imo. COD3 was an epic failure.
Hopefully COD world at war won't suck. I like the ww2 genre. I just want something other than cod2 for PC. I think COD4 sucked ass. But, I think the COD:WW is going to be a combo of UO and COD4. Infinity Ward who made cod2 and 4 is making cod6.

Single player is pretty fun so far

It's not bad. The single player so far is pretty much the same as every Call of Duty ever. Kill waive after waive of mindless enemies and move on. The flamethrower is cool enough, and the gore is a very welcome addition to break up the monotony.
I messed around long enough on multiplayer to get the custom equipment slots. I was disappointed in the weakness of the bolt-action rifles in the beta. I haven't tried them out yet, but I heard they didn't make them any stronger. They should be one-hit kills in the torso and head, or else you don't have much of a chance against the semi-automatics and the automatics. The Bolt-action Kar98k was the funnest weapon to use in CoD3. At least there's hardcore mode to up the damage.
Can't wait to unlock the Garand. Unfortunately the weapon sounds in this are terrible. At least the <ping!> is accurate enough.

Yeah it's alright, glad I didn't buy the collectors edition. They still need to fix the crappy spawn points, like they should've done from the beta complaints.

Honestly I'm not impressed at all with this installment of CoD. In addition to the vast number of server issues, I don't really find the multiplayer gameplay to be fun. To me it's a significant step down from CoD4.
Oh well, almost all my buddies from CoD4 are swithing to this so I guess I'll be playing it a lot, along with SOCOM.

IGN.com gave this a 9.2 review.
Should I get this? I've never played a Call of Duty game before... is this kind of like Halo 3? I'm talking about online play specifically. Do you get matched up with random people, get thrown in a map, and try to get the most kills to win?
