Thread: Dead Island

Is nobody playing this game? Me and like 5 other friends picked it up and it is a really fun game. Seriously a cross between Fallout3/Borderlands/and Left for Dead. Open world, skill trees, four characters, weapon creation/modification, easy and intuitive multiplayer. Oh... and ZOMBIES!

I was going to get it...but after watching/reading the reviews it seems like it isn't that great of a game....

I watched 4 or 5 videos G4 posted on Twitter with really bad glitches in the game, some of them were pretty funny. If I had the extra money, I would probably check this out...but I don't so I won't. How is it so far, Maddogg?

360 version has been glitch free for me and I am 20+ hours in. Just got to the city and it is insane. Getting 5+ quests at a time is kinda overwhelming at times but at least you can pick and choose what you want.

I have it for PS3. I like it, currently on player level 9. the quests are pretty fun, have yet to try multiplayer though. The weapon selections are pretty solid when you level up. Does anyone know when the bloodbath DLC is going to be up?

So I have seen some glitches, but nothing that would make me not enjoy the game. Some textures load a little late, sometimes there have been minor clipping issues, but honestly the issues haven't affected my game or frustrated me in any real fashion.

Played 10 more hours or so. Level 26 now. Most of that was in the city.

Now I am past that but won't spoil anything. There have been weird spawn glitches in the confined areas after the city. I would be walking, check forwards/backwards see nothing and then 2 zombies would a) beat the crap out of me b) suicide on me. Annoying.

Second is a bug in that you are not able to disable online/joiners until after they've joined. I've had it happen twice where player X would join me and bring along a much higher level baddie with him. One was ten levels higher. A lot harder to kill with level 25 weapons.

Edit: You can switch your multiplayer settings before you launch the game from the main title screen. Annoying, but hey, what can you do. I set mine to 3 private slots and I still get stupid 'X is nearby' pop-ups.

Still a really good game though and easy candidate for GOTY.

It's fun, but much better with COOP people, any Kings fans with 360's want to group up for this title?

Good game, not great, but certainly top 5 of the year. Not had any of the problems people have talked about too, which is nice.
