Thread: Dead Space 2

Any brave souls out there? haha

Great game. I've only went through the first 2 chapters at my friend's house, and I haven't been disappointed yet. I have ordered mine with a 25% discount, should get it in 3-4 business days. Can't wait!

Comparing this to RE is like comparing the "Predator" to the tellytubbies.....but if you're also frightened by the tellytubbies....then there's a problem You should try the first dead space to get a hold of the "story". It actually has a good story to it (although you get everything about the story in another game called " Dead space: Extraction" which is supposed to be in dead space 2.

I hate RE b/c of the controls and always running out of ammo. I tried so hard to like it. I think that whole series sucks. Its the whole "survival" genre I don't seem to like I guess. This isn't one of those types of games is it ? I want to try it but not if it is.

Picked it up on the release date. Still playing the 1st one though. Crazy game! Best horror game out there IMO. How is the multiplayer on Dead space 2?

The controls are better than RE games but the gameplay is definitely in the mode of RE4 and RE5 so I'm guessing you probably wont like it.

I think the RE series is great (RE5 was kinda meh) and really liked Dead Space 1. Picked up DS2 yesterday and really looking forward to it.

I see what you mean. Yes, it is survival....and it is horror at it's best. The GOOD thing about this is you've got 2 special "weapons" that you can use despite running out of ammo...kinesis and stasis. Although you can run out of stasis.....kinesis is VERY helpful compared to how it was in the last game. It helps you pick up items (dead corpse/stool/chair/sharp object) and FLING it directly towards the monster, and at times, impaling them to the wall with the sharp object. Not to mention you need to dismember them(which the characters say multiple times) shooting their heads off doesn't really help at all and shooting them right in the middle of the body does almost nothing.

Did not try it but i've heard that you can play as either the human OR the alien...

Here's some multiplayer info:

"It has a 4 vs 4 setup, where one team consists of humans, trying to finish an objective. The other team consists of Necromorphs, who try to stop the humans from accomplishing their goal. Each playable character has two weapons in their arsenal. New weapons and their secondary firing modes can be unlocked through level progression. Necromorphs damage output can also be customized as you rank up."
