Thread: Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii)

Donkey Kong Country Returns came out yesterday. I played the first island part (1-1 to 1-6) and passed the first Boss. You collect bananas/balloons, spell Kong, find hidden puzzle pieces and areas... it's like 15 years ago.

The first art deco type level -- all in the shadow of a sinking sun was fantastic.

As for difficulty level, there are some difficult spots, which I'm sure will ramp-up higher in later levels.

The forced motion control (motion down for ground slap) is more of an annoyance than an impediment.

As if there were any doubt, yes, it's awesome so far!

So many awesome games out, I love the old-school thing that's going on. Sonic the Hedgehog 4, Donkey Kong Country, New Super Mario Bros. I don't have a Wii, and I'm not too interested in most of the games...but with DK and Mario, Smash Bros and Goldeneye...I think I might get one just for those games. I've only played New Mario on DS when I had one, I loved that game. I'd rather use the classic controller with all of these if possible.

If I did get a Wii, what games would you guys recommend? I don't need party games or any family type of games. It would be just for me.

I think I still have DKC in my SNES box.

Having a Wii just for the exclusives is worthwhile.

I don't care for platform games anymore, but I think I will buy this game in the near future
