Is there a Brotherhood of Steel main base in the game? I was bummed when I was with the squad at Galaxy News Radio (GREAT scene there, by the way) and they wouldn't recruit me. Figured that the only way to join up would be to find their base, just like Fallout 1. I don't need to be told where it is, just curious if it does, in fact exist.
I'm a little underwhelmed with the power of the energy weapons I've picked up so far, my favorite weapons were always the laser rifles, but they just seem a bit underpowered so far. I'm hoping there's some bigger and badder ones that show up or are creatable. Disentegrating bad guys IS fun though.
This game is seriously the best game I've played in years. A big 3-D, post-apocalyptic sandbox.
This game is eating away my life one hour at a time. I think i left the house for a total of three hours all weekend...
The energy weapons do get pretty badass. The laser rifle is good, but things go to another level once you get the plasma rifle. I got mine off of an Enclave soldier (as well as his sweet Tesla body armor).
And i'm pretty sure you can't join the Brotherhood. Which is kind of crappy, but it's hard to complain too loudly when the game kicks this much ass.
i can't find the radio station i keep going thro subways and getting put everywhere but there and tips? other then that i have ben just messing around getting a feel for the game and getting killed a lot. but i love it so far.
The game does a pretty good job of having those little map markers (the green arrow) pointing to the path that you need to take, not just as-the-crow-flies like most games. If you keep an eye on that they will do a good job telling you which doors to go through. There is definitely some subway-hopping going on though.
I'm gonna go destroy the slaver town tonight (something Falls i think). I'm spending more time at work thinking about what i'm going to do tonight than actually working.
Freakin' hell i love this game.
God damn it guys. You are making it REALLY REALLY HARD for me to NOT buy this game. I have another game going now that I want to get play out of before I set it down for the awesomeness that is Fallout. Please... please... tell me this game sucks. Tell me it isn't worth $50. Tell me anything about how bad the art/acting is.
... tell me if the violence is as nasty as the other games. I remember being able to take a talent that allowed only the most violent deaths possible in Fallout2.
Where north of Rivet city?
No its not worth the 50$ i payed for it. I woulda payed 70$ :P
Yes it is just as violent as the other Fallout games, more so since the graphics are 100 times better and yes the deaths are just plain nasty.
Nothing like shooting a combat shotgun point blank at a super mutant and watching his head disintegrate. Or using my hunting rifle with V.A.T.S and blowing a leg off. But my favorite has to be clustering enemies around a beat up old car, shooting the car and blowing all of them up.
