Wow nice. How many paradox endings are there? 8?

I had an extremely hard time looking for the freaking Graviton Cores. Especially the one in Bresha Ruins AF005. I literally circled the map from top to bottom about 5 times before I thought of using the Chocobo to get me to a location I couldn't get to before. That literally took 2-3 hours and gave me a huge headache. It also didn't help that I caught a cold last Monday and I was extremely sick starting on Thursday. I have been sleeping 15+ hours trying to get better from Thursday - Sunday.

But anyway, I did manage to find all 5 cores and now I can advance the story. A quick question... do you need to go back and level up before proceeding? Noel made it sound extremely dangerous since he is certain that Caius is waiting on the other end... *Gulp*

There must be a ton of end game material if you said I was close to finishing right? I feel like I barely played half the game... I'll most definitely play tonight so I'll update you tomorrow morning.

Keep in mind that some 100%s require multiple time zones... for example, Bresha Ruins can only be 100%'d when you unlock BR 300. If you CAN'T get somewhere, chances are you can get there in another time! Hope you feel better soon!

The final dungeon is brutal... even when I went to face the final boss there were still some random battles I couldn't handle and like I said I thought I was over-leveled! Just like the rest of the game, you can always return to the Historia Crux to level before the final boss. Just give it a try and see where you stand!

Yeah, it was a pretty damn short main adventure. Collecting 160 fragments, maxing crystarium, collecting materials to level monsters... that stuff was the meat on the bones. Definitely a game designed for the completionists out there. That said, I didn't feel gyped by the main story, it was definitely a fun ride.

Okay, managed to play about 2 1/2 hours last night. I'm up to the point where I just finished Serah's dream and I'm currently in the middle/end of Noel's dream. But WOW! How extremely sad I feel for Noel. I think it's the music. What an amazing song. (Just need to know the song title now lol)

I feel like I'm over-leveled myself right now too! For Noel, he's a level 94 Commando, 65 Ravager, 60 Sentinel, and 60 Synergist. Serah is a level 80 Ravager, 65 Commando, 60 Saboteur, 55 Medic, and 35 Sentinel.

When the crystarium expands, do you bother with adding an extra 20 in capacity for the accessory? I have done it twice now and I'm scratching my head thinking, "It doesn't seem that useful".

One monster I love having on my party right now is the Golden Chocobo. He does damage higher than Noel! :wootrock:

It sure seems that way doesn't it? I never really bothered with the Cieth Missions/Post Game stuff from FFXIII. I wonder if I'll bother with this. I definitely want to see the Paradox Endings though, that much I know. Hopefully I'll have enough time to do this before Mass Effect 3 comes out. :)

That's the song I was referring to. Hauntingly beautiful, I'm obsessed with it. It's called "Noel's Theme" (The Last Travel), I listen to it every time I'm on YouTube haha. For those of you that haven't played the game yet and plan to, I'd suggest not looking it up so you hear it for the first time in-game... pretty powerful.

Golden Chocobo was my main man (err, bird) heading into the final battle!

Looks like I will wrap up my platinum trophy today, just a few more monsters to round up. 75 hours of gameplay... but that includes leaving the game on while I slept to get the slot machine fragment and the chocobo-riding trophy. So, about 65 hours... like I predicted, much more manageable than the 110 FFXIII took!

Haven't played the Mass Effects... I don't really like shooters. Have heard from a few people I'd like those for the RPG elements though... what do you think?

In any case, I have so many games I've scooped up on sale over the last few years that I need to play its ridiculous. Will probably try out one of my non-RPG games (Assassins Creed 2, Uncharted 2, God of War 3, Arkham Asylum, or Infamous) next!

Going to re-quote you here because you were right. What the hell was Square Enix thinking with the huge difficulty jump?! I made it to Academia 500 AF and thought... oh crap... puzzles again. Then the first random battle, this Behemoth monster (forgot it's name but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about) kills Noel with one hit. It was doing around 4800 damage and Noel only has 4200 HP... =\

There were some other monsters in there that were do-able, but I had to use the Saboteur (Serah), Synergist (Noel), and Ravager (monster) setup to get the Protectga and Shellga. Serah trying Deshellga only works like 10% of the time and Deprotectga is useless it seems.

Then I'll get to Ravager/Ravager/Medic to stagger the enemy and then finally going Triple Commando. The CP they give is pretty weak too, given the difficulty of the monsters.

Anyway, I still managed to make it all the way to the last checkpoint (I think). It took forever to get to what I think is the last checkpoint because I was forced into the wild battles every 3 seconds. I once had to fight 3 times on a single platform just waiting for the blocks to rotate. I was exhausted by this point so I saved and stopped for the night.

Tonight, I'll dive right in and fight the final boss to see where I stand. Where would you recommend that I level though if I have to return to the Historia Crux? Only thing I can think of right now would be to grind it out at New Bodhum 700 AF and The Dying World 700 AF.

Hahaha, I'm convinced they put that Proto-Behemoth into the game to troll players. It was doing major damage when I returned in the postgame with my crystarium totally maxed out.

Yeah, it took me forever to get to the final checkpoint and I was exhausted too. Very satisfying final dungeon... frustrating, but really makes you earn it huh?

Hopefully you'll squeak through the final boss like I did! If you don't, depends on your post-game plans...

If you aren't going to play in the postgame: Go to Acadamia 400 and fight those rapidly-respawning cei'ths at the bridge. By now, they should be cake, and the fact that they keep on coming you should rack up plenty of CP quickly.

If you are going to play in the postgame OR want to level Gold Chocobo/monsters too: Go to Archylette Steppe (sp?), rainy, and travel across the way to the swamp. Monsters in there routinely drop potent items for lvl 4 and lvl 5 monster growth, so you can kill two birds with one stone racking up CP and monster growth items.

Well... I couldn't beat the final boss. The sequences leading up to it was extremely bad ass! I honestly couldn't tell which fight was the final one because they were ALL hard. Then when I got to the final one, ugh... so frustrating (in a good way). I kept yelling at the TV, "Stop delaying the inevitable you jackass!" when he kept re-summoning his "friends". The closest I got was the 3rd try... and I got him down to half life. :facepalm: Teraflare, I can survive with about 800-1000 HP to spare provided I have Protectga and Shellga up. Without it, I actually still survived it with about 50 HP.

But when he used Gigaflare, I had all my defenses up and it killed everyone in my party in one hit. Ridiculous.

So tomorrow or Friday (since the Kings play the Yotes tomorrow)... back to square one. I'll go and try to grind out some more levels for some HP/Attack/Magic stat bonuses as well as collecting more items to make my monsters stronger. Archylette Steppe you say right? I'll give that a try for sure.

I'm impressed you got through the one before the last one! That was the one that was killing me! Came right down to the wire.

Considering you want to see paradox endings, there are some difficult battles in your future anyway, so grinding for items won't hurt anyway. Hit me up in the post game on PM and we'll talk about the ending, and I'll also give you some easy monsters to go grab that will make postgame play a lot easier. But go enjoy your hard earned victory over the final baddie after your grind!

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Sazh DLC Details - Xbox 360 News at IGN

Comes out on Feb 28th for XBOX360 and Feb 29th for PS3.

Sazh: Heads or Tails? - 400 Microsoft Points/$5.00. This is one of those "side stories" that allows you to control Sazh and will lead up to how he got to where he is in FFXIII-2. Then when you're done with the story, you can use him in the Monster slot part of your party it looks like.

And USCKingsFan, the missing thing from the casino it looks like they're adding now. Two new card games - 'Chronobind' and 'Serendipity Poker'.

And of course... more costumes for people to throw extra cash on for no reason. Noel's 'Spacetime Guardian' outfit and Serah's 'Beachwear' garb. I'm certain the beachwear garb is going to get lots of teenage boys to buy this micro-transaction. :facepalm:

*Sigh* You guys already know where I stand with DLC. I hate it. Yeah, they're extra content and doesn't affect the outcome of the actual game nor should it affect my enjoyment overall... but still... these things used to come all included. The thing that bugs me the most is that companies don't even PRETEND they're working on these content after the release of the game so that we have more to play with. They announce it ahead of time, way before the game is even released. Just so they can make extra money on top of the $60 we already paid for. Freaking greedy bastards.

An update... I still can't beat the final boss!

I thought I grinded enough at Archylette Steppe. Noel is a Level 99 Commando, 99 Ravager, 70 Sentinel, and 70 Synergist. Serah is a 99 Ravager, 85 Commando, 75 Medic, 40 Sentinel, and 60 Saboteur.

Twice last night, I got the final boss down to what seems like the final hit. But he unleashes the Dying Sun attack and it deals 4500 HP damage. I'm completely at a loss. >_<

Haven't been deflated from a game in a long time. The ending better be satisfying... lol

I'm going to have to grind some more I suppose. Ugh.
