After you cast Libra, you can go into the Enemy Intel screen (RB or R1 during battle) to find out that enemy's weaknesses. The problem is, there's no legend to describe what the icons mean anywhere. Red (flame) - enemy is weak against fire
Light Blue (ice) - enemy is weak against ice
Yellow (lightning) - enemy is weak against lightning
Blue (water) - enemy is weak against water
Green (leaf) - enemy is weak against aero
Brown (earth) - enemy is weak against earth
White Sphere - enemy is weak against holy
Black sphere - enemy is weak against dark

Really comes in handy for certain bosses who can change their elemental weaknesses during battle. :good:

I believe this legend is mistaken when it comes to Holy/Dark.

The "White" is a little picture of a sword, and represents the effectiveness of physical attacks. The "Black" is a little picture of a staff, and symbolizes the effectiveness of magic attacks.

Ah, cool! In standard def, I can't even see the sword and staff. I was wondering when I would learn "holy" and "dark." Thanks :)

STANDARD DEF? I was feeling guilty that I was only playing it on my 720p and not letting the hi-def do its true justice on 1080p. Now I don't feel quite as bad :)

Oh believe me, I'm trying to scrape together all of the change I can to upgrade to HD. Hopefully in time for the playoffs and my 2nd FFXIII playthrough. ;)

The Sentinel class is key to any boss/multiple enemies fight.

I was feeling pretty weak during Chapter 11, so I took the time to grind and max out my crystarium. That's probably the biggest difference; early on, you pretty much max out your grid just playing through the level. Later you will have to make a conscious effort to do so, if you so choose.

Wow! You weren't kidding about Chapter 11. I just made it there last night (about 28 hours in) and the difficulty just shot up like crazy. Without trying to spoil anything... all I have to say is that the monsters in random battles are insanely tough. Also at this stage in the game, the CP points it takes to "level up" each stat (HP, Strength, Magic) is insane too. But still... what a huge difference it is from Chapter 10 and before to Chapter 11.

Stating the obvious here but Hope is extremely squishy. I hate having him "ride the pine" but everytime I use him, the monsters seem to pick on him first. :laugh:

I haven't tried, but is it possible to change the party leader? I so want to have Vanille lead the party.

Haha, I feel you! Hope makes an excellent ravager/medic, but his HP is brutal. put those HP boosting bangles to good use if you want to use him!

Yeah, I have that one...I had to slow down the action to finally beat it...was easy after that.

I suck so, I'm still on the Odin fight :facepalm:
