Thread: GoldenEye coming out for the wii!

This was one of my favorite games growing up...still is.

Hells *****ING YEAH!!!!!!

Nintendo surprised the hell out of me at this year's E3.

Because while Microsoft and Sony are desperately busy trying to copy Nintendo with the Kinect and Playstation Move casual crap... Nintendo ignored their casual junk and focused a little more on the core games they had like Kirby, Golden Sun, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Zelda... and the Goldeneye thing is pretty darn cool.

GoldenEye looked really good. Releases this holiday!

This was the best Nintendo E3 presentation in a long time.

Started with Zelda, then Wii Party and Mario Sports. Kirby (styled as thread) comes-out this year. So does DKCR (everyone was wondering what the Metroid Prime trilogy team was working on in Texas - now we know). Mickey Mouse looked great. Then all the 3DS awesomeness... Kid Icarus looked better than most Wii games (and there was a bunch of speech in it too).

They had so many titles to announce, they just flew-by a bunch. DQIX, Metroid:Other M. NBA Jam flashed-by. Golden Sun's video was pretty short.

What was best IMHO (besides 'nostalgia' title updates) was them not trotting-out shooter after shooter after shooter.

I still think it's a bit odd to replace Pierce Brosnan with Daniel Craig for the Goldeneye remake. I liked the movie quite a lot, so the story part of the game loses a bit of the authenticity for me. That said, the gameplay is obviously the key so if that's improved it'll be fine. Just finished Perfect Dark on XBLA, gotta love classic N64 games making a comeback. What's next, a remake of the original Turok? Maybe Rogue Squadron?

I hope this is compatible with the Wii Zapper. I played the Quantum of Solace game and it was awesome.

My son told me this and I was really excited. I was hooked on Goldeneye when it came out. I ruled the "control room". I remember taking my son to a birthday party and it got out that I was the only one they heard of who could beat the control room in the advanced (expert? - its been awhile) and they talked me into beating it for the birthday kid.

I guess I didn't have much of an exciting life when i hang out with 12 yr old boys and play video games with them LOL

Yep I agree indeed. I go to the E3 the last few years, but I did like what I saw at Nintendo's booth for the most part. I got hands on with the Nintendo 3DS which really impressed me a lot more than I thought it would.

It's good to see the Big N focus more on the core side of gaming again
