There were rumors that it might be set in Los Santos since the actor that played CJ in San Andreas has said he was doing voice work again. People are speculating DC though.

Man, they really need to bring back Vice City, or at least the soundtrack. By far my favourite GTA.

Wow, I was just looking for info on GTA 5 on Sunday night, glad you posted this! I really hope it continues CJ's story from San Andreas, that was my favorite game in the series.

Yes, I would love it to head back to San Andreas. That was far and away my favorite GTA. The Hydra jet and jetpack were awesome, and overall it was just much more fun than the other GTAs.

GTAV puts multiple protagonists in fictional LA - Report - News at GameSpot

Yesterday's announcement of Rockstar's latest provided nothing more than a logo, but citing a "source familiar with the game," Kotaku reports the game will purportedly use Los Angeles as its city of inspiration, and feature more than one protagonist. It would not be the first time Rockstar turned to LA for ideas, as the West Coast metropolis loomed large as a clear muse for the fictional California microcosm of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
