Actually, it does make it worse. One theory as to the horrendous fail rates of the hardware is the 360 and the 360's power supply's inability to cope with power fluctuations. The intercooler will draw power from the powersupply and actually make the problem worse, completely offsetting any gains you'd have from running a lower temperature. Also, should your 360 fail while using an intercooler, it could void your warranty since a 3rd party product could be responsible for your loss of hardware; That's why I only advocate using 1st party hardware from Microsoft, because if ANYTHING breaks, you can tell them that you were using all their hardware.
