Thread: Just bought a PS3

Just picked one up today. Got the bundled package with Move and a game. I also bought COD. I've always been partial to PS so that's my reasoning. Just ordered a game that has always been exclusive to PS. Hot Shots Golf. I haven't played many games online in the past. My tag is LetsGoKingz......w/ an "s" was already taken.

Tips, suggestions? Flames for not getting an XBOX....blah blah....

So when you say you got COD, do you mean Modern Warfare 3?

Yes! I loved Hot Shots Golf back on the PS2. I miss it a ton since I don't have a PS3. =\ I was originally going to save up to buy a PS3 for Final Fantasy games, but since Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2 are made for the Xbox360 as well... it defeats the purpose of buying a PS3.

I don't really know of any exclusive must-haves for PS3. Heard lots of good things about the Uncharted Series like Dexter mentioned. So if you're into Action Adventure type games, that might work.

I personally liked the Ratchet and Clank series with the PS2, I'm sure there are some PS3 games of those too. Other than that, everything else I can think of for the PS3 is available for the 360 as well.

Gran Turismo 5 is awesome. If you like platformers, or if you have any kids, try out the 'Ratchet and Clank' and 'Little Big Planet' series.

I use my PS3 more than my Xbox 360, mainly due to the following reasons:
1) Netflix supports Dolby 5.1 on PS3 (they might have added this to X360 recently, but it's been on PS3 for a long time)
2) DVD movies up-res so much nicer on PS3 than Xbox 360. They almost look blu-ray quality.
3) PS3 is still considered the best Blu-Ray player on the market.

Microsoft definitely has the advantage in Multiplayer and connecting with friends, though. The PS3 interface sucks for this stuff. But having a web browser is awesome, which the Xbox 360 doesn't have.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. It's really the entertainment center piece at my house.

Thanks for the response. I've been out if the gaming world for a few years.

I bought a PS3 the day Modern Warfare 3 came out. That's the only game I play as of now regularly.
My son and I play Toy Story 3 together. That's a pretty fun and quite an involved game for a kids game.

If you take some time to look for Play Station Network Games (the 10 buck and less ones you can get at the PS Store) you will find some amazing ones... Mushroom wars (not drug related) is amazing and there are a ton of games on the network that are cheap and provide for a ton of fun.
