yes and no. you can play alone but the computer will take over for the three other people. It is WAAAAAaaaaaay more fun to play co-op online though.

I just found out the demo for 2 was online capable. It is AMAZING !!!!!

It is all kinds of awesome. Played last night after my GF pre bought us a couple copies and we hooked up with a couple other friends. Hard game. We were on normal but had to turn it down for the finale... and I STILL didn't make it out alive(AND with the exception of my GF who is fairly new to the whole gaming thing, my buddies and I are old hands at FPS type games.). If anyone wants to shoot me a friend request on XBOX send one to Kingsrule77. Good luck with the zombie apocalypse.
