Football games just don't do it for me. I think it's the fact that you choose one out of eleven guys on defense and just pray that the AI does its job. Offense is always fun enough.
I might get it for online franchise, and even then, only because a number of my friends are getting it, but I didn't buy an edition of Madden for myself since 04.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm definitely feeling like a NFL game purchase this year and I wonder which is better: 08 or 09?I usually stay 2 years back on the Madden franchise.
Football is football. I don't care about the rosters, and I can get the game for $5 on ebay.
It's time for Madden 08!
As for the rosters, I used to like starting my franchise with a fantasy draft anyway. I care more about gameplay than graphics.
