Lol I thought it was only the Canadians cheesing before, but now I realized it's everyone. More Canadians play the game though obviously.
bigger question is, why can't we cheese on them just as much as they are cheesing on us?
Because just like they say in messages for no reason... "you guys suck"
Just because we don't do the same thing over and over again. Idiots.
They are extremely easy to stop. I play defense on EASHL and every time they go for a curve shot, you poke it away. Every time they go for a wrap around, you crush them behind the net.
But the thing is... they do it OVER and OVER. It's ridiculous. Especially when I'm trying to play real hockey with my team. I shoot from the point, I pass from the point. But there are a few times when the puck will go past you and you can't turn around in time, they'll get their breakaway and score the cheese goals.
I don't want to sit at the red line all game long just to prevent this crap you know?
But I'm just saying, people who are from Canada and people who have xXx blah blah on their names... the amount of cheese goal attempts is way over the top.
When NHL 10 comes out, these are the people who are going to say "This game f***ing sucks. I hate what EA Sports has done to this game." I'm sure we'll have a great time playing this game for a few weeks until the cheaters find new cheese goals and 99 overall stat hacks.
Americans glitch 70 percent of the time....Canadians glitch 80 percent of the time....and French Canadians glitch 90 percent of the time.
I have a theory . . . bear with my as I put my tinfoil hat on.
I thought the goaltenders were pretty well balanced prior to the very last update that EA sports had. In fact, it was the most fun I was having with one of their games - EVER.
The last update added some important things - like face-offs in the zone after a penalty call. It also eliminated the CPU players putting the puck over the glass over and over again. Of course, the solution seems to have been to not have them to it EVER. I haven't had a SINGLE over the glass call since that update.
But they also re-vamped the goaltending, saying simply that they were fixing short-side goals and allowing more variation on goals scored. On paper, this sounded great. But it was poorly executed. The worst part is the ability of a goaltender to cover the puck and play it effectively. I play as the Canucks, and Luongo's numbers are atrocious. I play very good defense, and I still can't get his save percentage above 88%. Madly frustrating - and this is on both Superstar and All-star.
Penalty killing also bugs the crap out of me. When a CPU team is on the powerplay, they are blessed with superhuman ability sometimes to be able to magically win ANY corner battle, and stick lift, hook, hold, whatever to get the puck in a one-on-one battle. The real sad part is that if you don't play real hockey, and just skate and skate and skate and skate - you can kill a penalty every time. But that's not fun.
My theory - and this is where the tinfoil comes in. EA knew they had a pretty good game - and they messed with it on purpose. Seriously, if you have a game that you design to play for a long time, over and over again like Dynasty mode - don't you risk people carrying the game forward past 12 months? That hurts your sales for the next version. Think of the power here - you have a game that you can re-program later that can make your new product that much better - who wouldn't use such power?
