I don't think the demo is that bad. Of course there are sliders for hitting and pitching difficulty in the full game, but then again it was really tough to get good settings out of them.

I may pick it up eventually, but it isn't a first-day purchase.

I still have MVP 2005 for the Xbox sitting on a shelf...waiting for an opportunity to be used again. If you get it for PC, there is a pretty robust modding community that updates the game with current uniforms, rosters, stadia...all that. Only problem is that, for an old game, it isn't that cheap.

    Steal it.

Edit: To be fair, I do like the presentation, always have with 2k, although some of the cut-scenes went on way too long. If that's what it takes to avoid "Loading..." screens though, I'm all for it. I like how it fades out as if its going to commercial, but it's the gameplay that's the real issue for me. No amount of sliders can fix a poorly designed engine...

EA released a MVP for 06 with college baseball, which has the same problem as any college sports game, no names or realistic info on the players. 2k will never get another dime from me as long as they make ***tty product.

I was one of the few that actually bought that game. It was cool, same engine, had CSUN as a playable team so I put myself and some friends in it, but yeah it couldn't come close to MVP with fake players and a million schools that I don't care about...

In fact, that was the last baseball game I paid retail for.

    Boycott 2k Sports!

Actually, I think NBA games on 2K sports has held the "edge" over EA Sports NBA games.

The EA Sports ones used to be really good. Now it's really pathetic. I think NBA Live 09 has a "Be a Pro" mode too. Only problem is... you get bad grades for being a team player. They encourage you to score as many points as possible, grab as many rebounds, steal the ball... yadda yadda.

If you set screens or guard an opponent well, and don't do the other stuff... it's meaningless. lol

My favorite was Baseball Stars from SNK on the NES.

The 2k series for hockey was better than the EA games for years in terms of gameplay but the games WERE ALWAYS BUGGY!!!!
