Default New XBOX 360 Dashboard Available Today

Anybody know much about the new dashboard that's being made available for the 360 today?

Looks like they borrowed (or flat out stole) Nintendo's Mii concept:

A couple other shots from engadget.com:

The feature I'm most interested in checking out is the tie-in with Netflix where you can now stream movies directly to your 360 from a library of 10,000+ titles.

You can also apparently burn games directly to your HD, although i'm not entirely sure of what the advantages are to doing that. Less strain on the system since the CD doesn't have to spin? Shorter load times? ::shrug::

I downloaded it this morning. So far so good. That netflix feature sounds pretty cool. I think you will be able to stream movies in HD, if so, their wont be a need to buy a blu ray player anytime soon.

Yeah, when this was announced back in E3... everyone knew it was a total copy off of the Nintendo Miis.

But I was talking about this with dousk and LAKingUnderling. They said the Netflix thing is going to be sick. I can't wait to see how that goes.

While it seems like most of you are allergic to the "like" button, I just want to personally say thanks for looking anyway.

Okay, the avatars are pretty neat so far. But my Xbox has frozen TWICE when someone "signs on". There's just too much loading needed in the dashboard. Anyone else getting this problem? I hope my Xbox isn't dying again so soon... ugh.

As for loading games to your HD, no more dirty disc errors!

How long does it take to load a game?

I think I want to load up Fable 2. Sweet game... but the DVD spins like crazy.

Loaded up as fast as if the DVD was in the drive.

Do you know how much space an average game takes up? I just have the regular 360 (not the elite), not sure if this feature is aimed more for those with the giant hard drives or if the regular ones can fit titles as well.

Also, you obviously need the disc in the drive to start up the game, right?

So far so good. The Miis er.... avatars could be more customizables but I like it.

I believe you do have to have the DVD in the drive, but I have a standard 360, and NHL 09 fit on there perfectly. Live is running ****ing slow today though with everyone downloading the update. NHL 09 froze up on me in a Team LGK game earlier today.
