Thread: NHL 09 LGK "Clan/Guild/Team" for XBox 360

The funniest Xbox Live experience I've had so far was playing a pickup game - we had a user controlled goalie on our team who didnt know what he was doing at all and cost us a 2 goal lead in the final minute. No one was talking on their headsets during the game and I mutter something like "Jesus Christ, goalie - just do us a favor and quit already. You're horrible!"

Sure enough, he instantly quits. About 2 minutes later I get a message from him asking if he can join the team I'm on claiming he had a "***** game" - gave up 6 goals and was COMPLETELY out of position every single time and didn't even seem to be trying. Yeah buddy... invitation coming right up...

As far as how were scoring...

When any combination of Boozehound (LAKUnderling), wasabinuki (dousk), and myself play, we do a lot of quick one-touch passes to get the puck ahead to the skater the furthest down the ice. Leads to a lot of rushes and scoring opportunities. At this point we'll either try a 1on1 move, cut into the slot for a shot, or wait for a trailer to pass off to.

Me and Boozehound have a couple set plays off the offensive zone faceoffs as well. If were lined up to the right and I'm dropped back a bit as the RW, I'll try to get the puck back to me for a low slapshot that Boozehound has a chance to knock in. There's almost always a fat rebound doing this. Boozehound is a beast picking up loose pucks so this works often. If were facing off on the left and the puck goes to the RD, as the RW I'll quick make some open ice by moving laterally and call for the pass and one-timing, usually catching the goalie out of position. This one has led to some pretty clutch goals, including my 100th last night!

But yeah all in all we just try to play hockey.

I saw that a few of you seemed to split off. Is Team LGK still going?

Breaking News: Watti is out for the rest of the year with an undisclosed upper body injury. Too many goals scored last night, I guess... See you next year.
