Anyone else seeming a bug when doing a line change? if you hit "x" to call for a change (which i have hit accidentally several times), your player skates over to the bench and tries to do a change. The control goes to the AI and about 50% of the time your player will just stand by the bench on the ice and pace back and forth, waiting for a line change that doesn't happen and there is no way to get control back. Basically your team is short a skater until the whistle blows.

lame.

Bugs like these are why i switched to the 2k series. Other than this and the horrible fighting mode (two punch fights? and how do you get a "good" fight? i only pick 'em when we are down by a couple of goals to wake up the team and i still get yelled at!), good game. Still not used to the controls yet though. i was playing D on the PK, tried to slap it out of the zone. Instead my player fired a blistering slap shot on his own net for some reason. At least LaBarbera made that save.

Yes, that happened to me with the line changes... until I stopped calling for a line change. When you're out on the ice, just stay out until you see the red bullseye circle at the bench. That will be your signal to get on the bench. This way, you won't have the computer "taking" over because you're trying to get on the bench too early I suppose.

As for a "good fight", are you winning these fights? I have fought when we were tied going into the 3rd, and if we're losing. But I've always won the fights, and I've gotten credit for a good fight every time.

I think *any* penalty you take is considered a bad penalty. Even when I had to hook the player going on a breakaway. Just ignore it =)

I also think it's dumb in the negative feedback section that says "Watch the turnovers" when I have less than 5 per game. I used to get like 15+, but what do you need to do? Get 0 turnovers all game long?

Oh, Mr. Irreverent... the sad part is that when I got traded, the Kings had 25 points already in 7th place. Montreal has 17 points and they're 14th in the East. =x But good thing the season is still early.

I think it factors your report card in when decisions are made. I assumed I got demoted from 1st to 2nd line center only because of my stats grade. It said I didn't have 1st line production and that I couldn't rely on positioning alone to stay there. The stats category on my report card was my only bad 'grade'. Positioning and team play were both A's.

I had A in stats, A+ in position, A- in Team Play. I got that same message.

Here is what I am thinking the problems were: Player Chemistry: The first line was grinder, sniper, & sniper. Players returning from injury: O'Sullivan & Handzus.

All that was yesterday morning and afternoon....here is the kicker. In the evening, I made it back to the first line. Made it to 2nd in NHL scoring. I made it to 1 pt behind Getzlaf (WTF? And Perry was 3rd & Selanne 5th) the scoring leader. Suddenly, I am demoted to 2nd line in Manchester after Stoll returns from an injury. Needless to say that sucks. That is worse than sending Brian Boyle back to Manchester after 4 goals in 8 games.

I would like to demand a trade...but it is not an option.

Question for those that have the game, do you have the classic control options like in 08? I'm waiting for PS2 version, but would like to kinow if they have it availabelfor those who already bought the game on their systems.

Yeah mitchrock. They still have classic controls for those who don't like the new style ones. But I personally think the stick control is much better overall, in term of shooting and poke checking.

FYI....I simmed the rest of the Be-A-Pro season to the play-offs. This landed me a permanent role as 3rd line center in Manchester. We are 3-0 and I have 7 points and no promotion to 2nd line.

Thanks TooCool. I've been playing with the new controls on 08 the past couple of weeks and am starting to get used to it. The one thing I like about the new controls is it's much easier to score on a deflected shot. Shooting from the point and crashing the net now works fairly well. Nice to be able to do something other than a slot pass.

Have you simmed games before hand as well? This does make it seem like you're "lazy" and could be the reason why you're not on the main roster. Then again, I don't know. It seems like KingsNate sims games too, from his earlier posts... but he has no problem staying with the main team.

I'm about 10 games into my season, playing on the first line in Manchester, but the team has gone SUPER COLD.

I have 1 assist in the last 2 games....and our team has only 2 goals in the last 3.


And yes...I usually get a minor penalty a game...and it's ALWAYS a bad penalty....:-p

I also wonder if fighting boosts your team at all...if you are losing by a few goals.
