They need a 'hold out' option in offseason contracts. I won the Calder trophy and was 3rd in playoff scoring and all my agent could muster up was 3yrs $2.125mil per??? Weak, I say! WEAK!

Stupid damned unrealistic game! Hell, even Lombardi would offer you at least $3m/per year for 3.

I am currently playing 4 different Be a Pro seasons simultaneosly (Goalie, Offensive D, LW PFW, and RW Sniper) so i havent gotten too far into any one season yet...

My first Be a Pro was a Goalie. I pretty much stink... I started off with a GAA of about 5.23% or something, but have slowly worked it to 2.69%. Bernier and Quick are outplaying me badly, yet I keep getting most of the starts. I see no promotion to the Kings any time soon... though I hardly play with this character.

My second was an Offensive D man. Havent really gotten into this one too much, I believe I've only played like 3 games or something, yet I've managed to muster a -5 +/- and 0 points to date...

My third is a LW Power Foward. This is by far my favorite so far, and I've played it the most. After Brian Boyle, Teddy P, and Bernier got the call ups (Boyle and Teddy led the AHL in scoring at the time) I got bumped up to the 1st line in Manchester after being like 5th in the team in scoring. Then I started to blow up. I led the AHL in goals by almost 2 digits, and Manchester was on a 10 game winning streak. I finally got the call to LA, and didn't slow down one bit. After like 20 games in the bigs, I lead the Kings in Goals, second in hits, and 1st in game winning goals (7). The Kings are in first place in the conference. I keep getting sent back and forth between the 1st and 2nd lines. Something about being with Kopi and Frolov that doesn't seem to work out for me. Stoll and Sully seem to work better.

My fourth is a RW Sniper. This one I've only played 3 times, and been able to muster up just one goal (empty netter), but have 4 assists.

This game is hella fun, I still need some more practice, though, I want to join the LGK Xbox team some day...

I hate that the fight and hook button are the same.

Team was down 3-0 at with 7 minutes to go in the 2nd. My team was playing like dog crap and getting badly outplayed. I figured that it was time to start a fight and wake my team up. Instead of a fight, I took a hooking penalty in which resulted in my team giving up a PP goal.

Well, seems that the coach benched me the entire rest of the game for that. Not one shift for the rest of the 2nd or the entire 3rd period. The critique was "you can't take bad penalties" for the rest of the game. It wouldn't even let me call for a line change with X, just stuck watching the team end up losing 6-1. stupid configuration.

When I try to hook, i start a fight, whenever i try to fight, i get a hooking penalty. what is the secret?

So, I am a defensive D, played half as many games as most of the guys on the NHL roster. I am 2nd in goals and points on the team and lead in PIMs. Half of the team is like +25 or greater (lines 1 and 2 and top d pairing). The other half is like -10 or worse (lines 3 and 4 and bottom d pairing). 2nd d pairing is close to even on +/-. is this the same with most everyone else?

I'm not sure about a secret but a friend of mine suggested I up the hook, poke check and puck handling and lower the fighting, and so far its working for me and the cpu is now getting more penalties as well.

There's no such thing as a Fan Mode, is there? I think it would be cool if the game allows you to view as a spectator so you can watch other people play online.

Only thing nerdier than playing virtual hockey is watching someone else play virtual hockey.

At least a headset is not required to do so.

But other nerd gear like coke-bottle glasses and a retainer are recommended to complete the effect.

Yikes... how often do you usually press X for a shift? I can't imagine pressing the X button and not having it work because you're in the doghouse.
