I'm getting random disc read errors now...

I've checked the disc and it's perfect, no scratches or anything, but NHL 09 is the only game that's doing it so I don't think it's my console... anyone else have this problem?

Pretty common problem apparently. Clearing your console's cache is a temporary fix. The directions should come up in a quick google search.

Edit: Worked perfectly. In fact, now it seems like the game is running smoother than before (cutscenes, load times, etc)

lol! That is awesome.

For my update on the backup goalie issue. I got eliminated in the 2nd round =\ Can't believe it. I was down 2-1 in the series on my last post.

Game 4, in Philly. I went down 3-1 really early on. I managed to score 2 goals in the 3rd period, with one goal in the remaining 10 seconds to send it to OT. I tell ya, I was pumped! But I lost the game in OT when the puck didn't even go IN the net.

With 8 minutes or so left in the 1st OT, someone shot it from the side of the boards (near the goal line). The puck was stopped by Halak's pad RIGHT in front of the goal line. The goal horn goes off and they celebrate. I was in utter disbelief when they were showing the replays. It did not go in, yet they won.

Game 5, back to Montreal. My team scores 3 goals in the 1st 3 minutes. I made sure to play really tight defense, and figured I can get a Game 6 out of it. But you can tell when the computer is cheating, when they suddenly score on any shot they take. With 5 minutes left in the 3rd, they scored to make it 3-1. 20 seconds later, it was 3-2. Another faceoff later, it was 3-3.

I don't think I was ever this miserable from offline play... With 30 seconds to go, they take one more shot and made it 4-3. =\

Usually, I laugh or feel good about myself when I eliminate the other team, but this one hurts.

Off season time! I haven't simmed through the off-days yet, since I went to play with team LGK. But for team LGK, these one goal losses SUCK!

has anyone gone over a year without being called up? in my first year in be a pro i worked my way up from the third line to the first line in manchester pretty quickly. i was 2nd in the league in scoring with 52 goals 34 assists in 80 games. i played most of the year on the first line but still no call up. i resigned a one year deal with the kings, which might have been a mistake considering im in my second year and still in the ahl. has it taken this long for anyone else to join the big club?

It only took me 16 games as a center to get called up in Be A Pro, luc.

I started my dynasty a few days ago after downloading the roster update. I chose the Kings, of course. I'm playing on All-Star this year. I set the difficulty to Pro last year since it was the first hockey game I'd played since Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey '98, and I ended up with the best record in the league and swept through the entire playoffs.

This season's really frustrating me, though. After starting off 4-1, I've lost 5 in a row, all by 1 goal, all games in which I scored first. I almost always out shoot the other team, but they make 1 or 2 bull**** goals while I have great shots clang off the crossbar. I'm now 4-5-1.
