What skill level are you on? What is the period length, and are you simming games?

im on pro, and im playing 5 minutes a period. i did sim some games to see if he could get himself up to the pros on his own but simming only made me get bad reviews from my coach...i think the simulating is what screwed me over the first year

Yup. Funny that you still got bad marks though with those stats.

Yeah simming isn't good because your player's defensive/offensive awareness is not built up yet. If you are controlling your player, you will more than likely have higher awareness than if the computer plays for you.

Is there any way of choosing your linemates on Be A Pro mode? I want to play with Jack Johnson or Doughty on the first line but they sent JMFJ down to the 3rd line with Doughty. I'm stuck playing with Preissing.

ya...coach was saying that it seemed as thought i was just going throught the motions, and wasnt paying attention to winning or something like that. i started my 2nd year and im gonna play every game until i get called up.

wow update already. i don't remember getting any updates for nhl 08. damn ea...at least they're starting to update their other games more frequently now.

Any opinions on the PS3 update? Seems the dynamic has changed a bit. With a couple games I noticed 'delay of game' penalties for over the glass, checking isn't as effective, poke check is useless in the offensive zone, and 'lift stick' still ends up a penalty the majority of the time (at least for me).

OK, the delay of game is out of control. Florida just did it 3 times in a row. Had a 5 on 3, scored. Still a 5 on 3, scored. Now its a 5 on 4, but we didn't score that time.

Some highlights:

If Vision Control is pressed, you do not throw a hit when in
front of the attacking net. This helps with rebound shots.

YES!

The EASHL will now go to continuous 5v5 overtime until one team
scores. This way nobody has to sit out, and you get to decide who wins
(this is now just like the NHL Play-offs)

Good idea. Nothing like losing a shootout when it's just computers, and their AI does the money blocker side wrister while your AI keeps losing it in the goalie. Epic Overtimes = FTMFW.

This fixes the cross goal where you shoot back
the other way, and the goal that goes in with the "curve" animation, and
a few others.

Haha....now all those fairies that keep trying the same goal over and over will have to find a new exploit. Been encountering the "curve shotters" more often. I don't mind the cross-crease one-timers because those are legit.
