Love how glitchers still ****ing try that cheese goalline goal and get pinged. Ref loves to call penalties now, I had an idiot on my team that kept getting interference and being a puck hog. Basically don't hit the non puck carrier.
Ha I got rrod'd after my warranty expired last week. Figures.
Just beat a couple 6'5''-ish guys by a score of 5-1. I get a voice message asking me why my 6'1" Dangler ((87 speed)) is faster than them since they are "using the 99".
Insert facepalm here.
Love the patch. :good:
NHL 09 is fun again!!!!!!!!
I don't want to jinx myself yet, but I have taken less penalties in the 4-5 games I played last night with the patch compared to when I had to play against cheaters.
No more getting creamed at the blue line for no reason. (Well, I still got creamed a few times, but there were penalties called instantly) :)
Some interesting penalties to note:
More Roughing calls.
More Boarding calls.
More Charging calls.
Even saw a Checking from behind penalty. It's a good change compared to Cross Checking and Interference.
The only problem I've seen so far is that your computer teammates will get a lot of penalties too. Stupid ones like Holding and Slashing... but what can ya do?
And it seems like all I have to do (as a defensemen), is to clog up the neutral zone and more often than not... they won't score. The only exception was yesterday. We played against a 2 person team and they both picked defense. The defense would constantly shoot from the point and the computer forwards were so damn aggressive and they would constantly score easily. I would just call that a "fluke" though, since we still get crappy computer goalies from time to time. =\
Just got a PS3 for x-mas and recently purchased NHL 2009, yes I'm late to the party. Does this game allow you to download current rosters? Does it cost $$? Or do I have to purchase NHL 2010 when it comes out to update every teams' rosters?
Rosters are updated every once in a while. I don't play a lot of single player so I can't remember when the last one was and when the next one is coming out, but since the trade deadline just passed I would expect one soon. It doesn't cost money to download the rosters themselves.
Have I mentioned I love the patch?
I'm now able to be the playmaker I originally wanted to set up from the start. The game seems to go at a much more realistic pace, we're no longer knocked off the puck within 0.2 seconds of receiving it, and I can actually now take the puck to the corners, look for the open man in the slot, and "thread the needle," so to speak. Worked quite well last night.
:congrats:
When you connect to online play, it'll make you download the updated rosters anyway. After that, just save your rosters manually and you're all set.Quote:

Hopefully this time around, I can finally get that damn legend card. It will easily be obtainable at this pace. I can't wait! :)
