Alright. I just played it. Really fun I gotta say.
Be A Pro - You start as a Junior, you just play in the 3rd period. My first game, I picked my signature position which is defense. Obviously, I got in a fighting penalty right off the bat to test it out. It's a pretty good fighting system, compared to the older games that's for sure. The game was 1-1 and went to OT and Shootout. I had a C+ rating for no doing any scoring, but I actually scored a shootout goal which surprisingly gave me an A+ for stats.
In NHL09, your shootout goal doesn't count as a "stat" when it comes to grading. So I easily got A+ for the first demo play through. I got picked 5th by the Islanders.
Next BAP game. I intentionally got penalties. I played as a Right Wing Sniper. Got in 2 fighting majors. Even intentionally used board play on a player without the puck. They called a holding penalty on me for just holding onto the player. I also got a tripping penalty as I dove in front of a player with the puck. He went down exactly like in NHL09.
Despite all those penalties, I still got an assist in the final seconds of play. Got A+ in Position, F in Team Play, and A+ in stats. I got drafted 11th by the Kings.
Then I tried Battle for the Cup. Picked the Red Wings. Apparently the score was 2-0 Penguins by the time my game started. (Is that random? The score they give the opposing team). I just fooled around really, shooting the puck at the goalie after the whistle. Poke checking him nonstop. Face washing people... got in tons of fights. It's just to get it out of my system really
Overall, pretty solid demo. I can't wait for the actual game.

Ever since I have been playing online, the patches just made the game worse...so I don't really see that as a good thing.
Can you actually get in more than 3 fights in one game in the demo? As a team obviously, not in BAP.
Looks like it so far. I got in 4 fights with the Red Wings in Battle for the Cup mode.Originally Posted by Palffy3314

Well...your point seemed to be more about the PS3 users getting continually screwed when in fact that wasn't the case. But, yeah, it would be nice if everyone got it at the same time.
Cheer up, at least you can watch a blu-ray movie on yours!
As far as the patches go. The first one did a lot to eliminate the curve shot but made the cross crease a necessity because you couldn't hit the net from anywhere else. The second patch brought the curve shot back (though not quite to original success rates), but also made it easier to score on shots other than the cross crease again.
I think the latest version of NHL 09 is still the best. If you load up the 09 demo you can absolutely nail curve shots with Datsyuk pretty much at will since that was a pre-patch build.
