I haven't had a chance to delve TOO deeply into it, but I'm disappointed with some of the Be a GM Mode frills. I could do without the Be a Pro style challenges and achievements, I just wanted a deep, flexible Dynasty Mode.

I fired up a Panthers dynasty, and the owner EXPECTS us to win 41 games in the first season. WTF?! One of the challenges is to win 60 games in a season. I know this is achievable in video game hockey, but it just sort of jettisons realism out the window.

Player scouting itself looks better, but I'm not sure how I feel about the "staff upgrades." Seems to me you play long enough and you have All-Star staff across the board, which, again, doesn't seem to jive with a league where each team has strengths and weaknesses in the Front Office as well as on the ice. Also, I haven't actually done a draft yet, but it looks like a much better system than last year's offering, from the screens I've gone into.

I'm sure it's just high expectations, I've always sort of hoped for the NHL '10 on-ice experience with an Eastside Hockey Manager-type depth to the GMing. It just seems that instead of depth, we got gimmicks. It's odd, as Madden had an excellent, no frills, franchise mode for many years, I'm not sure why it's so hard to carry that over to hockey (I know, different developers and all).

I played a pretty solid game in the prospects game, no points, but I helped set up the first goal of the game, had a few big hits, and some good shots. We lost 2-1 in ot, but I got drafted 4th overall...

The Kings picked 3rd overall, they passed me up and immediately Toronto drafts me 4th, how ****ty haha.

Now here are some things I don't like and like about the game:

They put me on left side D (I like right side..) so why do they not have an option to put what side you want? It's like just putting forward instead of center, rw, or lw. So why can't I decide if I want to play rd or ld?

Season expectations is 42 points. 42 POINTS? For a rookie defenseman playing on the 3rd line? I'm not Bobby Orr! Christ. I doubt anyone on the entire Leafs team will even put up 42 points in real life!

As I said earlier, EASHL sucks right now. No cheese from what I saw, but I only finished 1 full game and my connection was perfectly fine.

Already mentioned in other posts, but it's annoying how long you wait after the whistle. Extends the game an extra 3 or 4 minutes. Even more annoying online.

Low scores...game is slow as hell. NHL 09 was fast and exciting...NHL 10 makes me want to fall asleep at times.

Passing is retarded sometimes. I will be wide open on the blueline and whether it's a human player (online) or cpu player, sometimes they will pass way away from where I am. I guess it's somewhat more realistic, but I've been on a team with the LGK guys since the beginning of this year, and in 09 we all made pretty good passes for the most part.

There's too many things to upgrade and Be a GM mode has so many things in it, it's kinda hard to keep track of everything.



Things I like:

CUSTOM SOUNDTRACKS! Bout ****ing time PS3! But you can't do it from main menu, you do it in some menu in the game which makes it kinda better.

Fighting....well duh. I actually fought Sean Avery in the EASHL and he litterally looked like Sean Avery! haha. Unfortunately he beat me... O_O No more annoying one hitter-quitters anymore. It was funny at first, but people learned some annoying ducking and punching technique in 09 and fighting was stupid, especially when you get glitched into one.

Goalies and AI are smarter. I can't believe I'm saying that either, but they are in position and do smart things with the puck. Makes the game more enjoyable.

I love the fact that you can be drafted in BAP.

EHM can't be beat for that. I still love playing that game.

I think the last franchise for Madden that I loved was 2004..or was it 2005?

crazy to get drafted and then get plopped right into the pro team...I was drafted by atlanta and I'm on the third line of the big club. and immediately went -1 in the first game haha. I'm not drew doughty!

hey, btw, why didn't they update doughty's name on the audio choices?

passing was one of the things I'm better at...and I suck in this game so far until I can boost some attributes.

I had a little lag which knocked me out of one game.

We had a 5 man Club game last night and 3 of the players disappeared?!

A lot of server issues being mentioned around here. Is it EA's servers? PSN? Xbox Live?

One of those. It was one of the final last gen versions, as I had it on Gamecube. Lord only knows how they managed to blow it up jumping consoles.

Kwan (Nosoup)- Yeah they tell you they want to test you out for a few games on the big club to see if you're NHL ready.

Benkido (Fisch)- Lol, you got better at passing each game. The first game was pretty bad, I'm not gunna lie. You got me me first goal though, thank you!

Simmonds isn't pronounced right. They say S-eye-munds. Instead of Sim-munds.

In my first be a gm game, Williams got a hat-trick. I also got a crazy offer from Philly during the draft, Handzus for Gagne. I accepted...I also had a pretty good draft! I usually suck at the draft, but this one was pretty good. I got a 72 rated goalie in the 4th round, not bad.

Also, Ivanans is a great fighter in this game. That's about it haha.
