Nhl 10 ps3 "mud"?
Last week NHL 10's EASHL for me went from absolute fun to almost unplayable as (aside from the occasional lag filled game) the fluid game with responsive controls I had grown to love, suddenly turned into a game that I don't know how to describe.
The best way I can put it, is that my guy now feels like he is skating through mud. The controls have a delayed response of about a half second (and eternity in this context) and it has made the game almost unplayable.
It seems like some of my teammates have experienced this, but now their game is back to normal. But my game continues to be plagued by muddy gameplay.
For the record, I know what "LAG" is and this is definitely not the issue. It's not like the game slows down and then speeds back up (LAG). It's just consistently SLOW.
I guess the best way to describe it is if you've ever played Madden (or Im assuming FIFA too) and it's raining and the field is muddy yer guy (logically) is slower, more sluggish and less responsive than on a clear sunny day.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is my PS3 dying? Is PSN slowing me down? Did EA tweak the game without telling me?
I've tried 2 NEW controllers and they aren't the problem.
The only other thing to note (which leads me to think it's my PS, or PSN) is that when I type a PSN message to a buddy the "responsiveness" of the text entry is not instant and crisp...it feels delayed also.
Now this won't mean much because it's Xbox360, but I experienced persistent problems last week that were different than lag as well, however in mine it would pause a stutter briefly in what seemed to be regular intervals (not the jerky random stop/speedup of lag). This lasted for about 5 days and nothing I tried to do worked. I think that meant it the problem was with my ISP or the EA servers. Call your ISP and see if they've slowed you down for whatever reason. I wouldn't bother calling EA because they won't care.
Hopefully someone else can help you more.
Thanks for the feedback.
I will contact my ISP....but wouldn't a slower connection just result in traditional "lag"? Worth a shot to ask though as I am by no means savvy when it comes to how the PS handles data transfer.
And yer dead on about EA...waste of time.
Hey thug. I was playin versus mode last week and something DEFINITELY changed. Mud is a perfect word to describe it. Everything was slow, my passes would just slide of my stick, my player was moving so slow i was pressing the stick reallllllly hard in one direction hoping he would speed up lol. It was frustrating, I thought it was an update to gameplay or something, which I strongly disliked.
Bottom line: we are in the same muddy boat. I prob won't play for another couple weeks, but I hope it's better then.
Wutup holmes....sux to hear we are in the same boat. But at least now I know Im not going crazy.
Glad to hear you are gonna be on the sticks in the next couple weeks...looks like Im gonna have to try harder to get my schedule changed to play nights.
Unless of course this problem persists ....cuz honestly I would rather not play than deal with the game as it's been. NO FUN.
I know exactly what you mean about pressing extra hard on the controller....and of course it doesn't have any affect. L-A-M-E!
try playing OTP and see if you get the same issues.
or even a vs game?
I've been playing OTP regularly and last night EA's connection was horrible. If I didn't get booted before the game even started, at least half the team would be gone by the faceoff.
It wasn't even worth playing so I switched games.
When I get booted from an online game 99% of the time it's the EA server that knocks me out, not my ISP.
I was ****ing pissed because all I could do was shoot! I couldn't pass, pin, dump the puck (etc) because whenever I pressed the buttons it just refused to do it and I would get hit!
It should be expected though, just like 09 last year when it was actually getting better, then around this time last year they made an "Update" which brought back even more cheese goals. I really hate EA.
If my game starts to lag I plug in the controller directly using the USB cable and it usually fixes the issue, hope it helps.
