NHL 12 news

Wow, glad you knew the other milestones you had to reach (200 wins/A-). I'll get there at some point, but I'm only 30 games into Legend 1 (meaning I have 70 more to reach Legend 2.) I need 10 more wins, so it seems kind of ridiculous to need 70 more games. A- is no problem though, I've had at least an A- overall since I first started playing.

Also I noticed something weird when I play in drop-in games. If I'm not the best player on the ice, I'm ineffective. 9 times out of 10, I'm the best playmaker/goal scorer on my team, but when there is someone better than me on my team, I start sucking and making bad passes or I turn the puck over really easily. It's different on my EASHL team, because all of us are pretty good at what we do...and usually I'm the idiot taking stupid penalties haha.

I played 1500 games on '10 and 1000 games on '11 so minimum of 350 to get legend isn't a big deal...just getting the ratings for legend make it a big deal.

Seems like the new cheese goal is getting as close to the goalie as you can before shooting it. =\

As a defensemen, you have to breathe down their backs to prevent this but it's hard because the stupid tuner update really made it hard to defend. It's harder to hit and it's even harder to poke check. Stupid EA, I swear... you guys try so hard to appease the cheaters. The game was PERFECT the first 2-3 weeks before these stupid updates.

I play D 80% of the time.
Yeah, it's incredibly hard to knock the puck off the stick of the fwds using poke, stick lift and even the block shot move even when your right next to them/on their back.

On the checking side even at 6'2" 215lb with good strength/checking stats I just bounce off 75% of the guys...like they don't even notice I hit them.

I want to know their secret. Every time I get close to the goalie, I get called for an interference penalty when all I'm trying to do is shoot the puck...and yeah, EA starts out good every year...then they slowly turn the game into crap so all the cheaters can do whatever the hell they want.

When I play D, it's not too bad for me. I maxed out defensive awareness and my stick lifting is in the 90's, usually the only reason I get in trouble is when I put myself in that position. When they are in front of me I can lift their stick and grab the puck pretty easily, or poke it away most of the time. The only thing that bugs me is when I'm trying to battle with someone in front of my net and my player completely misses the other player (who is right in front of me,) and the guy scores.

Patch update is out (PS3). Winnipegs current jerseys are now in the game, they seem a bit off though.

Doughty doesn't seem to be fairing well in the virtual world either, thats him getting bodied up and throwing the puck into his own net :/. NEW VIDEO | EA SPORTS

Apparently OTP is bugged and it doesn't count the games anymore... especially when I'm on the winning end. I don't get it.

Out of the last 8 OTP I have played (at least half of them were full 6 on 6), only 2 has counted. The two that counted was when I was on the losing end. Really EA? :facepalm:

The other 6 where I actually got As and put up a point or two, nothing counted. I guess I'll wait for EASHL play only then.

Seems ok on PS3, very rarely the game will end and I won't get the Card progression screen, is that what you mean?
