Watch EA finally add each of these as DLC for $15 each.

    • ECHL and KHL (licensing agreements from both leagues required)

    • A television broadcast feel to the game-different camera angles during stoppage of play, for example (NHL 2000 did a good job in this aspect)

    • 2 referees and 2 linesman on the ice

    • Actual coaching staff, trainers, and back-up goalie on the bench

    • Unique pre-game introductions (not player introductions) for each arena

    • 2 zambonis cutting/resurfacing the ice during intermissions-and the ice not cut/resurfaced for a 5 minute overtime

    • Better crowd interaction-fans getting up to go to concession stands and vendors in the crowd, for example (baseball video games do an outstanding job of this)

    • Ability to make full-player movements and integrate roster updates into season mode

    • Further customizable goalie equipment options-including actual helmet art (licensing agreement required from artists)

I imagine those are the rights of the player, not the artist (work-for-hire) gigs.

You guys are asking for way too much. Not only that, it's EA Sports... they don't really give a rats ass.

While I agree with you here, I don't think this is necessary. How many times are you going to play a home opener?

I would personally just prefer the starting lineups being announced. I could see myself not hitting the A button (during offline play) to watch/hear the PA Announcer introuduce the starters as they skate in circles around the ice. Then you can have the camera cut to each starter and show them the stats for the season, etc.

Like I said already, not really necessary. These only happen once a "year". How many seasons are you really going to play to want to see a draft and awards show?

Stanley Cup celebration should definitely be worked on. I usually don't sim my games (unless I'm forced to unlock something, stupid EA), so like Palffy mentioned... If I'm going to play 100+ games to win the damn cup, give me a celebration that's worth watching. Enough of the cheesy video that shows all the teams lifting the cup.

Better yet, let me skate around with the cup! If it's Be A Pro, I'd love to skate around with it and hand it to a teammate. If it's Season Mode/GM Mode etc, let me skate around with each player and hand it down one by one. A little "mini-game" like that wouldn't hurt.

As for the highlight show, I don't care about that either. I don't give a crap about football, but I did play Madden 10 (won it at KFC) and I always hit the "skip" button when they tried to show highlights. It wouldn't hurt to have things like that in the game though, but it just seems like it's too much to ask from EA Sports. =\

Contract negotiations In one of the 2k games years ago they had actually negotiations where you offered back in forth with the player to get a contract, sometime you had to overpay but if you played it right you could get a more fair deal... they need to bring this to the NHL SERIES!!!

Be Able to Renegotiate Contracts during the season(Look into the 2k series they have some good gems when it comes to contract)

Real coaches with hiring and firing
Can't really comment on this because I don't play this mode. One quick comment on the coaches hiring and firing, I hope that's not in the game actually. In NBA2K11, it was over the top. If a team loses like 3-4 games in a row, the coach will get canned.

I've seen Phil Jackson coach the Lakers, Nuggets, Hornets, Bobcats, Nets, and Heat all in one season!

Be a Pro was extremely fun when it was new. I was really attached to my "team" so to speak. I remember getting drafted by the Kings on my first go around. Didn't reset the game at all either! After 13 games in Manchester, I got called up.. played 3 games with the Kings and they shipped me to Montreal. =o

Honestly, I was shocked and "excited" so to speak that I played with the Habs all the way through the 1st season. I remember making it to the 2nd round and losing to the Flyers (who ended up winning the Cup).

When I was a free agent, I signed with the Oilers because they offered me the most money...

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that they need to make it exciting again. I hardly touched this year's Be A Pro because EA Sports didn't touch it themselves. It's the same crap. =\

Like i said up top Player introduction on the Home opener that would be awesome!!!!!
Contract negotiations - What's there to negotiate? Entry level contract... really no choice to be honest. Does anyone really play this mode after 2-3 seasons? Then again, I don't sim the games so I can't agree with this mode.

Asking for a trade - Same thing as above. It's just a video game.. I don't really care what team I play for. If I really wanted to play with a specific team, I can do just that. There's an option before you start a Be A Pro if you just want to pick a team.

Draft/Award cut scenes - Already touched on this above.

Interviews - This would be a huge plus. In NBA2K11, in their My Player mode, your player gets asked a question after every game and you have 4 choices to choose from. You can choose Professional, Loyalty, Arrogance, or Indifference. There's a voice actor for your character too, so he'll say whatever you picked. Then depending on the response you give based on the question that was asked, it'll affect your teammate, league, and fan popularity. If they can add something like that to NHL12, that would be fun.

Off ice training - If they added this, then that means we'll have to play this mode to boost our stats. Don't really want to do that.

Coach conflicts - This could be interesting if they added it. I guess it would be cool to have a coach make you play a certain way. That way it's not all about putting points on the board just to get a friggin A+ in Stats.

Suspensions - Computers hardly commit "dirty" hits so this won't work. The only ones getting suspended would probably be us.

One thing they said they'll add in NHL 11 but didn't was something to do on the bench. They originally said that when you're on the bench resting, you should be able to pump up your team or something.

Definitely time for new commentators. Most of the things they say have been in the game for years and it sucks.

Agree. They need to make it so that you can't block forever in this game either. If you're going to block, you should still take 1-2 bars of damage each punch.

It is pretty sad when you think about it. I hate to stereotype, but it's the Canadians who ruin this game for everyone with their cheese and glitch goals. They'll do anything to win playing this game because it's "their sport".

This would be AMAZING and a no-brainer to add. But EA has no brains... hmm.. =\

Would be nice, but pointless. I would rather have EA Sports add/fix more important things then put this in.

The game just feels boring and unrealistic in this mode. The players don't play like real players.
Couldn't agree more with you. They keep talking about making the AI smart and everything but they're still extremely retarded. The AI learning thing is pretty effective when you're playing against them, but when you're a goalie.. they're dumb.

I have played quite a few gmes where my team would "cycle" the puck in the offensive zone for the whole period and not get 1 shot in. It also doesn't help that the computer AIs never comment penalties or do scrums in front of the goalie.

The 2 minute safe rule is pretty retarded, I agree. A loss is a loss. If you punish quitters, they'll stop quitting. I personally think a great way to discourage quitting would be to have a "cool-off" period.

Let's just say someone quits because of the first 2 minute crap or because they're losing 3-0 at the end of 1. Make it so that you can't play another game for 10 minutes. Just some kind of penalty that makes people think, "This is BS!". This way, people will stop quitting or else they'll sit around and do nothing either way.

What really bugs me is how pathetic the computer goalies can be in EASHL. More often than not, our opponents will often score about 3 goals on 6 shots... while the other team will have goalies who can do no wrong.

There needs to be a balance between the two goalies. And if our computer goalie is sucking, we should be able to switch him out for the backup!

Short side goals, breakaway goals.. it's so dumb. It's perfectly fine to score goals that way, it's hockey. But the goalies need tweaking big time. You can't allow the same goals over and over.

Nope. Same reason why EA would need a licensing agreement with a musical artist is in effect here.

I can care less about presentation. Honestly.....how often are you going to sit and WANT to watch it? who cares if there's no personal trainer on the bench? Are we going to point him out every game? Fix the GAME. Goalies still suck. My rookie has played 3 games, is overall 80 and have no room for him thus far( is Not even close to a PPG player by ANY means as a 1st liner in the AHL).....and he wants 2.2 million.

I know I could've just used the quote button, but I just copied and pasted these. Yes. Yes. and Yes. These all need to be brought to EA's attention. You kick ass, TC!

Lots of good suggestions. Likely very little of it will get done. EA will make a just enough tweeks to the gameplay every year that NHL fans will buy it and be excited that progress was made. Im guessing the thought process is, 'Why make a perfect game when you have to come up with a better one in 12 months?' None of the EA titles will ever be perfect...

As someone that is just a casual player and falls into the above mentioned trap every year, Im pretty easy to please. Just add in the ECHL and the old Coyotes acid trip logo jerseys and Ill be happy.

I used to play Winning 11, I liked it more. Anyway, soccer is probably a lot easier to replicate than hockey.

I know by me saying that, you would think "Why don't you cut them some slack, then?" But my response would be... while they do make a good hockey game, I just don't get how they can sit there and play it, and think everything is realistic.

    Hopefully that makes sense, lol.
