I played the demo last night for awhile and I gotta say, why do they always change the game so much game to game? I'm getting kinda sick of having to re-learn how to play this game every year. This version seem slower than 12, which was slower than 11 and so on. That being said, I do like the backward skating WITH the puck. It doesn't seem as cheesy and I thought it would be. The new momentum system is gonna be hard to get used too. This was only a demo, so I'm hoping some stuff was a bit over exaggerated.
"This is for you, Kings players who have EVER worn the Kings uniform, and Kings fans wherever you may be, all the frustration and disappointment of the past is GONE! The 45 year drought is over! The Los Angeles Kings are INDEED, the Kings of the National Hockey League, the 2012 STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS!" - Bob Miller
"The long wait is over, after 45 years, the Kings can wear their crown! The Los Angeles Kings have won the Stanley Cup!!!" - Nick Nickson
The stick lift changed dramatically from NHL '11 to NHL '12. Way more enjoyable to use in '11. I could dominate in OTP and Club games with the stick lift with great timing. In NHL '12 it doesn't matter if I time it well or if my opponent is careless with the puck, he'll just keep the puck after I lift him, and my stick check rating is always 93+.
I opt for a poke check to dislodge the puck and reserve the stick lift for foiling deflections around the net, occasionally. Not as many chances for high sticking penalties and effective at separating the opponent from the puck. The biggest difference is you or a teammate will have to recover the loose puck. Of course, if I have a big check lined up, I'll opt for that.
Hockey Ultimate Team will actually be enjoyable this time.
Good no more salary cap and limits.
Fired up NHLPA 93 on the Genesis emulator, hard to believe its been 20 years since I was hooked on hockey gaming. Bit rusty though, since I probably haven't played in about 15 years.

It was always so weird playing on a swimming pool surface! I guess White would have looked to white? I never understood this decision by EA.
