Definitely have to stay back more in this game. They gave the forwards a huge advantage because it's easy to get caught flatfooted with this new skating system. Watch for cherry pickers and poke checking is your best friend. Don't bother stick lifting in this game because every time I have done it, they either get the puck back as if you didn't do anything, or you'll slash/hook someone by default.Originally Posted by Fropitar
Hip checking still works wonders in this game, especially if they're trying to get past the blue line up along the boards.
People still do the curve shot so don't give them room in the slot or it'll go in. What kind of sucks is that the puck goes through you when they shoot it, so you really have to poke the puck off of them or at least bump them.
Haven't been able to muster much (if any) offense yet in this game. But hopefully with more stat points as I level up, it'll be different.

One thing they need to patch is the freaking penalties. It absolutely ticks me off when the other team blatantly check you to the ice because they know they won't get called for an interference penalty.
