While it seems like most of you are allergic to the "like" button, I just want to personally say thanks for looking anyway.

Good one! I didn't play 12, but I gotta say 13 is much better than 11. I can actually throw body checks again, and I like the new skating engine quite a bit.

Feel free to throw a friend invite my way on Xbox, LGK'ers!

Answer: When its a human player on NHL13.

yup, totally useless to use it. 95% of the time it ends up being a penalty while the poke check is out of control effective. I'm a D so spamming the poke is normal, but muscle memory still kicks in and I end up getting a stick lift penalty at least every other game.

I thought I'd give it one more shot.

    Nope.

I was down 3-0 in the first period with my BAP player. Two of those goals were scored because the AI decided to change up my defense WHILE the opposing team was attacking in our zone. Do the people that write this software even watch hockey?

Yes they do. They watch the casucks though. So it's debatable what kind of hockey that is.

I've never had any good online experiences with the EA NHL franchise. From what I've played, it seems to be full of cheaters and glitches. I try to play good, honest hockey and get frustrated.

I used to play BAP, but it got boring because it was too easy to exploit the computer players. It's the same vs. computers in online drop-in play or in EASHL Club play, that's why I prefer 6v6 when playing those modes. Computer goalie is a lot better this year than in the past but there are still easy ways to beat them but if you have D that know how to play against glitchers it lessens the frustration because they know what to look for.
Human goalies that can play well make it so much more of a better game, something you won't experience if you don't play online. And from what I've heard from all my goal playing friends, it's easier to play it this year.
If you play club, if you don't have legend 3 it doesn't make sense to form a club, too many good players with the card plus all the boosts out there to go against so if they're down, they will try and glitch shot to win. Because of this I don't play a lot of club, just set-up drop-in games in the lounge with friends against all comers.
There will always be some WTF moments and plays in the series but it's still fun and takes up 65% of my gaming time. I try and get in at least 1000 games online each release.

We had a club of LGK boys for '10, '11 that played a lot. Most of them disappeared a few months into '12 and when we did play it was with small teams and too many computer players and it was frustrating. You really do need to commit some serious time just to get legend 3, one of the reasons why my friend who likes playing NHL gets so frustrated playing as he doesn't have the commitment of time needed to realistically compete and contribute. His players attribute stats (he's never hit 100 games played in an NHL release) just can't be countered with his technical skills. His situational awareness isn't the best either as he isn't as hardcore a hockey fan in general as most of us are.
