It's back to the drawing board for EA. I just hope they make a massive overhaul for next gen.
You mentioned this as well...
Even EA can't get this right and that's mind boggling. When you're playing Be a Pro or Be A GM, every time it gets into the 2nd season and beyond... the scheduling is all screwed up. For years now, you just play 10 straight road games, then 5 straight home games, with 5 more road games, followed by 15 straight home games. I never quite understood how they don't know how to "fix it" still. When I play NBA or MLB games, they never have this problem. That right there alone, is why I think EA is lazy. They simply don't care.Originally Posted by RoyalSubject
Obviously, in the end. I'm the dummy for buying a new one year after year regardless of what I think about EA. But I totally agree with your statement here.
This is probably why I still shell out the cash every year. When I divide the $60 bucks I spent into all the games I have played online and offline on NHL 08, 09, 10, 11, 12 13 alone... it comes out to practically "free" entertainment.Originally Posted by RoyalSubject

While it seems like most of you are allergic to the "like" button, I just want to personally say thanks for looking anyway.
I don't want to quote all of Royal Subject's post, but I understand where you are coming from. However, there have been serious blunders for years that don't get fixed.
-same commentary for how long now? (Including names pronounced totally wrong e.g. Cop-e-ter)
-BAP schedule, trade logic, et al
-same Stanley cup celebration for 5 years, really? The last 2k game had where you could skate with the cup and that was 3 or 4 years ago.
-real hockey plays are completely ineffective online. Especially now with the super goalies that save every beautifully setup play then allow weak wrist shots from the point consistently.
I could go on, but the list would be huge. I look forward to the FIFA engine and hope that makes the online midgets and giants get destroyed physically and slow as molasses, respectfully.
Yeah, I am going to buy it, mainly just for EASHL and I love hockey.
I can see how some things that don't bother me as a single player would bother people who prefer to play online though. Sounds like EA should be spending more time balancing the exploits.
This actually brings up an interesting idea. What if EA went to an MMO model, ala WoW, instead of a yearly title model? Sure, it would change that dynamic of "practically free entertainment", but it could lend to better balance through more frequent updates than the current distribution model allows for. It could also potentially enable cross platform online gaming. (ie. play with your friend on a PS3/4 while you're on your xbox 360/1)
Weekly Playoffs isn't too bad.
