NHL 15 has been officially announced.

NHL 15 Announced for Fall - IGN

Looks like it's still coming out for current gen.

EA announced today that NHL 15 will be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and PS3.

The look of the game has received an overhaul, according to the company, including what it calls a "new NBC Sports Game Day Presentation," with the commentary team of Mike ‘Doc' Emrick and Eddie Olczy. Additionally, Ray Ferraro of Canada's TSN will "provide insights at ice level." NHL 15 runs on EA's new Ignite engine, and will release this fall.
About time they have a new commentary team. They used the current one for what? 6-8 years?

EA and the NHL and NHLPA are working together to allow fans of the series a say in which player will grace the cover of NHL 15 on on NHL.com/CoverVote.

Additionally, hockey fans can vote for their favorite star on what EA is calling "Twitter Vote Thursdays," where they can vote by hashtagging #NHLCoverVote and appending it with the name of one of the cover candidates.

The players nominated for the cover and their respective hashtags are:

Boston Bruins Patrice Bergeron #NHL15Bergeron
