Thread: Nintedo 3DS!

I just got back from Best Buy and my mind is still blown all over the back of my head.

This is some crazy technology.
Comes out March, 27th. (5 days)

Not to mention: Ocarina of Time is coming out for it!

The price is a bit steep, but after seeing it in action, it is VERY tempting.

Oh you can try them at Best Buy? I'm going to have to take a look and see what the hype is all about.

I'm still very happy with my Original DS though. I'll most likely wait until the price drops for the 3DS before I even think about purchasing it.

Did not get to see the demos up here. I plan on keeping my DSiXL.

I have my 3DS pre-ordered @ Gamestop (thanks to their trade-in offer up here I got it for ~ half-price!)

I read that Pilot Wings is ok, but really short. Lego Star Wars looked cool, but is it just a port? Madden looked really good, but 3D football? There's a soccer game too. A remake of Rayman 2 might be fun. Icarus is pushed until later?

So I was at Target and I saw the 3DS in person... and I'm not impressed. Maybe I'm still sick or whatever but the 3D made me dizzy. It seems very unusual to have something pop out at me when I'm trying to play Pilot Wings. I turned the 3D off and the game looked much better.

I'll have to try it again some other time, but yesterday left a not-so-good impression for sure.

Not interested. 3D is supposed to be an immersive experience, not something that will really occur on a 4" screen.

I'm not interested in getting 3d for the home theater yet either until an industry standard is set for glasses-free.

Got my 3ds this morning. It is really cool. There's a lot in the box even without getting an extra game (ar cards, face raiders, photos, miis, etc.)

I picked up SSF4, Ghost Recon, Pilotwings, and PES 2011. I've played SF and GR so far.

SF is far and away the best launch title. It has almost everything from the console release including voice (missing costumes only?) and has all of the new 3ds functionality like online, streetpass, etc. An easy 9+/10.

GR is a turn-based strategy-type game with 35 levels and 20 more skirmish maps. The main play is top-down, so the 3D goes into the screen. Characters and enemies are somewhat small, but the areas are multi-sized depending on the level. Your team of characters perform tasks like eliminate the rebel leader, infiltrate an area, etc. I usually hate strategy type games, but this title is fun. A 8+/10 so far.

Let us know what you think of PES 2011! Yeah, SF looks like a must have to me, but I'm waiting until more games are out and a price cut too. Or a design and stuff.
