    Default Nintendo Wii

How about a thread about the Wii? Apologies if there is one already but..

My girl has one and it makes for some fun parties. My question is has anyone played NHL on the Wii yet? And if so how are the controls? From my experience playing NHL games on the PC/XBOX/Playstation I have to think that playing on the Wii would be a little awkward.

Also, any recommendations on games for the Wii? What do you guys like?

My advice for parties are the Rayman:Raving Rabids games. Silly characters/people acting funny+drinks = good times.

I think there is only one NHL game for the Wii so far and it's NHL 2K9. It got a terrible 6.8 rating though... which is no different than most games available for the Wii.

    IGN: NHL 2K9 Review

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the Nintendo Wii. I was so upset when it originally came out because I could not get my hands on it. There was no chance in hell that I would over pay for it too.

This Wednesday (July 22), would be the 1 year "anniversary" since I got it. I can honestly say that I turned the Wii on about 15 times total ever since I got it. Half of those times are for party environments.

Negativity aside, I guess Wii Sports Resort is a good game that's out. I really don't know what is out for the Wii.

While it seems like most of you are allergic to the "like" button, I just want to personally say thanks for looking anyway.

I liked the Lego Games on the Wii, and am thinking about getting the Conduit and see how that is

My impression about Wii games is that they are mostly designed for casual/party/group environments. Being more of a real gamer it isn't a system that I would purchase and it seems like some of the games that are released are kinda clumsy. I read about NHL 09 and the idea of using the wiimote as a hockey stick just seemed kinda awkward.

I'm in the same boat as TooCool, haven't really turned that baby on except for guitar hero in months. zelda, resident evil 4 was cool, so was super mario galaxy. hmm now that I think of it, I never finished any of them. doh.

and one day I'll get back on mario kart and play Obe.

Mario Kart and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games are my favorites. For one player games, I enjoyed playing Tomb Raider Anniversary.

The sports pack that comes with the Wii is still my favorite. I also downloaded a few NES games that I loved in the past. I know I can play them as ROMS on my PC, but still cool. Mario Kart is fun, but got boring after a while. Prince of Persia (Rival Swords) is very good, too.

    Games that sucked:
    NHL2k9
    Resident Evil 4
All WiiWare games I downloaded... especially Family Table Tennis!
