ok, sell me... I want a gaming system, pure and simple. I have an upconvert dvd recorder and way too many dvds to start all over...why is ps3 better than xbox????

I'm in the same boat, I haven't splurged on a new console yet, I'm just waiting for my stimulus check and I'm buying a PS3 on June 12. Sony is releasing a Metal Gear Solid bundle, which includes an 80GB PS3 (backwards compatible),the MSG game and a rumble controller for $499.00, so you get a game and controller for free.

last gen of consoles I was an XBOX guy first, PS2 second, this time around I'm PS3 all the way, my reasons are I feel jilted by Microsoft for dumping the XBOX so fast, you can still find current games on the PS2.

I don't play online much so I can't justify spending for online service when all I really want to do is get roster updates, Blu ray beat out HD so thats another factor, the dreaded three rings of death, I'm a lazy bastard so I don't want to have to deal with that and most games that I would play are for both platforms at this time and most guys that are at a site I write for own a PS3, so those are my reasons for wanting to purchase a PS3

On top of what Mashiasu just said, the 360 has already peaked in terms of gaming IMO and the PS3 has yet to fully reach its full potential. The fact that the PS3 will not break down after 6-9 months of use and that it comes with a Blu-Ray player that can be updated through firmware make a great deal. Also add the fact that Playstation's online service is FREE will help you save $$$ in the long run. I can go on...

EDIT: The PS3 also upconverts your vast DVD collection.

i just bought the game using a combination of reward zone points, coupons, and the money i got from selling my textbooks back....time to play some gta IV!!!!!

I beat the game by taking revenge, no problem. I then went back to a previous save to try to do the deal, and when the time comes, I cannot get my speed boat under Jacob's helicopter before I run out of time no matter what I do. I jump right into the boat and gun it the whole way, but I always miss getting there. What the hell?

You can do side missions like Manhunt & most wanted stuff (by stealing a police cruiser & looking at the computer), look for hidden packages, try to get some of the other achievements, etc.
