I got the first ever RRoD right after I activated the mission called "Meltdown".
Game froze 4-5 times and I had a bad feeling... now the system won't start up because of the Red Rings of Death... frustrating.
I purchased a 2 year warranty with Best Buy though when I got this system in Sept 2007 for NHL 08. So I can just take the system to Best Buy and get a new one right? Anyone know if I can keep the hard drive or something? I don't want to lose my save files >_<
It just completely sucks because I've took really good care of the system. It's out in a wide open space, and I've done everything I could to keep it from overheating and this **** still happens. Definitely unacceptable coming from Microsoft, but what can you do? =\

Yes take out the HD, Microsoft has said they are not responsible if something happens to your HD . From what I remember BB will send it to get repaired and not replace it, that happened to my Niece and her Itouch, she wanted a new one and they said they could only fix the one she had.
oh well at least you had the warranty. Microsoft has a 3 year warranty on the red rings last I heard.
It was a no brainer for me. My 360 has been acting kinda funny, so I went PS3 version all the way.
