I've also considered turning the "LGK Cup" into more of an LGK Championship Belt (ala WWE) that can be challenged for in stand-alone best-of-5 series', along with the occasional tournament.

We can even go all-out and come up with some kind of graphic that the current title holder can display proudly in their sig.

I'm looking forward to taking the title and claiming that belt. I really like the idea and I say that whoever loses each Stanley Cup Final has to buy you a beer at the Kings game for taking the time and effort to set this up. Thoughts?

definitely, watti you did a great job setting this thing up and it was a bummer to see you go out in the first round. ill buy you a beer at a game no matter what happens in the tourney.

I'll work on a belt design and award it to the champion once the finals are done. It's design will be a closely guarded secret until then.

As far as beers go, I won't be turning those offers down any time soon

Sweet idea. Sounds like a King of the Ring that WWE used to have (before they destroyed it). Wrestlers who used to win King of the Ring Tourneys would go on to be Champion someday.

Same could go for LGK

As for the LGK Title Belt, maybe there could be some rule of having to defend the title at least once every 3-4 weeks or something. So the champ can't always "reject" offers to stay as the champ.

If this is applied, the title could certainly change hands a few times until NHL 10 comes out.

The only thing is... who deserves to be the "#1 contender"? Or can anyone make a challenge?

theres was alot of lag in this game for both of us so were gonna hold off on game 2 for a little later. canucks take game 1 3-2 despite luongos poor play.

horrible lag i never got under 12 shots in my life it was preety gay, but theres nothing i can do about just have to gear up for game 2 so much for my unbeaten streak
