Four times? Yikes. How long have you had yours? Do you think they've fixed any/most of the problems you've had on later models?

Patience pays off. I will finally be getting a PS3 and finally have a Blu-Ray player. I can't wait!

the one i have now i got a little over two years ago. i had a launch unit but that failed once so i returned it (i got it from costco so they just took it back).

The Jasper 360s are a big improvement over the older 65nm 360s. Unfortunately, they're harder to find in Elite versions than Arcade. So instead of going through 4 dead consoles, you'll probably go through 1 or 2 consoles this time around.

I was considering selling my PS3 and getting a 360 for Netflix support. The majority of my friends have 360, so that plays a role. I knew of the slim/price drop for a few weeks now, so I think I'm sticking with PS3 to avoid the hassle of selling games, accessories, etc. I'll probably sell my fat PS3 for the slim version. The fat PS3 is downright f'ugly.

If anyone is getting a PS3...get the HDMI cable if you have an HDTV. I know that's pretty obvious, and even though the cable is like 30 bucks, the games look amazing. Might as well go all out if you are getting a new system.
