That's why getting the Blu-Wave remote is the way to go if you have a universal remote. You don't actually use the Blu-Wave remote itself, but the USB receiver.

On top of the fact that the Nyko is $10 less than the Sony.

Okay. The PS3 is on order (got it through Dell, actually, at a 15% discount through my company's corporate discount program).

Here's my next difficulty...I need to connect it (and a PC that'll be in the entertainment center) to the 'net. Will a USB wifi adapter work half way decently?

How many USB ports does the PS3 have? Will I be able to use one of those Nyko remotes at the same time?

The ideal situation would be to run a network cable under my house and up into the built-in entertainment cabinet (that I won't be using because it won't fit a flat panel). But I don't think that's an option for me to do myself, because both my attic and underfloor crawlspaces are too small for my wide ass to fit into.

PS3 has wifi inside of it. No need for an adapter.

Arright. Built-in wifi. Didn't know that.

Now I've just gotta get a wireless router.

Only on the 80GB model. The 40GB is Ethernet only.

And as Bleeding Purple said, the WiFi is perfect for updates.

The 80gb is the one that's on its way.

Need to get a copy of NHL 09, too.

I have a 40gb with WiFi in it. I think you're confusing that with the initial 20gb model.

Now that we have a decent group of BR PS3 users, I'm curious what your settings are on the PS3 for movie playback as well as your calibrated settings for your TV. I know it differs per TV, but I'm curious to see what you folks leave your TV settings at for PS3 movies / games.

The wife and I just watched 10,000BC bluray with our PS3 on our 50 inch Panasonic plasma TV. I got no complaints. Its like PPV'ing it in HD. Oh, and NHL 09 is both exciting and frustrating. Sometimes at the same time.

I bought teh 80gb for BluRay, but am VERY happy it plays games too!!

I was thinking of the software emulation for older games. D'oh!
