    Default PSP Questions

I am seriously considering getting a PSP. Yeah I know, the DS is better... Anyways, the real reason I want it is because of the emulation of older systems (NES, Genesis, Super NES, GBA) and I can watch movies on it. Knowing all that, do you guys think I should get it ?

Does anyone have one and use it for emulation ? Are there any other cool features I need to know about ?

    Do you have a PS3?

The PSP's interaction with the PS3 is quite remarkable now. You can now store all of your music/movies on your PS3 at home. All you need is an active wi-fi signal, and your can remotely turn on your PS3, access your media from it, and turn it off when you're done.

Nope. I have my heart set on a 360. (Halo, BioShock, Project Gotham, backwards compatibility and the rest of the games I want are on both) That does sound cool though.

old games are retro for a reason. Get the PSP for new games like Syphon Filter-- my personal favorite.

A friend of mine has an older PSP and runs an emulator on it. He also put Linux on his PS3 and loves using both. He geeks out on that stuff.

If you buy a new PSP with the latest firmware, I'm not sure if you'll be able to update it with the emulator stuff like you want to. I enjoy my PSP, but I just use it how Sony intended for it to be used - for games on the UMDs.

When you get that 360 don't forget Gears of War. Trust me on this.

This site has some good info:

    http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/psp/forthepsp.html

There are home brews that let you run older firmware on your PSP enabling you to run these emulators.
