Should I buy a PS3?

I am not into video games, but I like NHL games, and I would like to have blu-ray.

My brother said they are going down in price to $299.00?

Please give me the pro's and con's, likes/dislikes and if you think it would be the right purchase for me.

Only get a game system if you want to sit home all day and collect your government check.

PS 3 is the best Blu-Ray available. It auto updates the software and you can do so much.

As appealing as that sounds, I just can't get myself to give up on trying, although I hear it's the new thing!
