Smart Phone Games
Am I the only one who LOVES games on my iPhone?
I think not! I want to know what your favorite games for your smart phone are. I want to know the type of game, the cost, the game play and most of all... the countless amount of hours you have devoted to playing said wonderment.
My newest addiction is Air Wings. This game is really cool. It's a dogfight with paper air planes and other flying air craft. You use the smart phone like its a yoke by tilting up or down to to make the plane go up and down. Same with left and right. The really cool thing is that the plane behaves like a real plane (presumably of course) with banking.
On to the weapons...
You fly over flashlights that have spit-wads, rubberbands, pencils and suctions darts above them (kinda like Mario Kart and the [?] cube thing) and you shoot them at the other guy playing.
With maps like "death match" and the "sand lot" the game becomes more challenging than just flying around and shooting spitwads at the person on the other end. BTW, this is a really cool feature. If you're hooked up to wifi you can play somone else who's online and have a dogfight against them.
Its really cool, but the only downfall is that you have to purchase different packs to unlock the maps and different planes. But for $5 total investment, it beats the pants off of some of the other games I've bought.
Some of my old faves...
Skee-Ball - I unlocked the ice hockey lane with the purple glitter ball in honor of the Kings
Unblock me - solved them all but some still give me a challenge
Zombies VS Aliens - good game for when I want to waste time
Street Fighter IV - fun on the iPhone but funner on the iPad
Tiny Wings - I just can't get past the 6 island
If I have two minutes I'll play skee-ball or unblock me, but if I have about 15 minutes I'll play Air Wings.
So LGK gamers, let me know your faves.
I am always looking for new RPG's. Playing Battleloot right now and its pretty good.
Air Wings rocks!
I need to practice.
Finally won a couple.
The Creeps! It's a solid tower defense game with a ton of different maps to play right out of the box, and free bonus map packs. Of course they sell a ton of map packs also, but for the money you spend, it's definitely worth it.
Tiny Wings was OK, but Jetpack Joyride had me playing for HOURS trying to beat all of the in-game achievements, plus all of the Gamecenter achievements. I LOVE that game!!! Notable mention in this same type of game is Whale Trail, but it didn't hold my attention as long. I beat all of the single player levels with 3 stars and stopped playing.
Fairway Solitaire has taken a ton of my mobile gaming time, also. I've beaten every course with 3 stars and have every achievement unlocked, and I have enough "golf bucks" to spend on any new golf courses they send my way. Just waiting for the next update... very addicting game.
Dungeon Chronicals I & II (tower defense)
Machinarium (GREAT and original puzzle game)
Anomaly (reverse tower defense)
Order and Chaos (MMO)
Those are the best games I've found and played.
Honorable mention to Lostwinds, nice looking game that plays well, just not my thing.
Edit: Also, cool idea for a thread. I can't find a decent mobile gaming site to help me find decent games.
Play Contract Killer. It's free. friend me on gamecenter: Lappy! Or FB: Lappy Comehome, for help on the co-op missions.
