This will be my third year in The Sporting News hockey league. I haven't looked yet but is this Ultimate or Basic? I started palying Ultimate last season and I tend to enjoy it better than basic even though you have to pay.

it's basic, but pro level. The thing that i didn't like about ultimate was that i won like 50 bucks, and the idiots sent me a 1099 to declare the 50 bucks i won on my taxes, i thought that it was a bit bush on their part, especially for all the money i put into my team that year. 17.95 plus more for trades bought and stuff like that. i'm sure i put in more than the 50 bucks i won.

I don't expect to make any money in the leagues I play. But I still enjoy the Ultimate better. It seem to put everyone on a even playing field. I would max out the bought trades on Basic and I could place in every league I was in. In Ultimate there are no buying trades so I think that skill plays a bigger role here. I will check out your league once I figure out how many teams I will have. I will probably buy 3 Ultimate teams and maybe put in 1 or 2 Basic teams. Anymore than that and I can't keep track of them all. I have found that Fantasy Hockey has increased my player knowledge because I am constantly checking on their stats to see who I should buy/trade.....
I totally agree there. I knew a lot about hockey to begin with, about teams and the hockey tradition, history, and of course the stars and elite of the league, but learned alot more about 2nd and 3rd tier players, by playing fantasy hockey.Quote:

i was wondering if these guys update on players, as in will they add jack johnson to the bunch? yahoo did that with kopitar and o'sullivan.
They usually add rookies and stuff but the time the 2nd or 3rd week of the season comes along.
