I'm definitely happy with the game.

While I can understand why some people would have complaints about it, I have to say it's pretty damn fun. Not sure if it's mostly due to the roster matching the period when I was way into wrestling as a kid or just that it's a good, fun arcade wrestling game. Sure, the controls are quirky, but there are a lot of moves you can pull off once you get used to them and it really doesn't take that long. Keep in mind what you're probably used to (Smackdown vs Raw controls) is quirky in its own way.

The integration of the Wrestlemania footage is a big plus, and so is the create-a-legend option. I went in to mess around a bit and ended up making a pretty decent Sid Justice. Now I just need to rent SvR09 to import all the current wrestlers over...

Who's up for some head-to-head over Xbox Live? ::glares at supercalo2000::

I tried the demo today just now... and I personally don't like it.

Is it always a punch fest? o_o I tried to pull off different grapples but it's too easy to hit a button to reverse it.

I still have no idea how to run. I managed to do it like twice... and don't know what I pushed! lol

And the commentary is the same usual repetitive kind from Smackdown vs RAW games :(

While it seems like most of you are allergic to the "like" button, I just want to personally say thanks for looking anyway.

Like I said, it'll definitely not be to some fans' liking... It's getting really mixed reviews, kind of a love it or hate it situation. It reminds me a lot of the simplistic gameplay from the classic NES wrestling games. In fact, I still occasionally play the following ones and fully enjoy them:

Definitely a throwback feel to it, and a party game for sure. I'm curious how long the single player modes will hold up in terms of replay value. The Wrestlemania clips will help a lot in that department, I think.

I'd highly highly recommend you download the demo and give it several good run-throughs. I would say it's far more "fun" than it is "good," if that makes any sense. I definitely don't regret the purchase, but don't blame me if you do.

Let me know if you do get it, though.

Going to rent SvR 2009 for the sole purpose of having Dusty Rhodes and the Million Dollar Man beat the **** out of their sons in Legacy. Too bad there's no Cowboy Bob Orton...

The rosters can cross over from Legends of Wrestlemania to SvR 2009? Was that how John Cena got into the Legends game from the picture I found yesterday?

Unless you're just going to create Dusty Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Sr. to beat down the Legacy. hahaha

Yeah, but it's only a one-way crossover. You can import all of the current wrestlers into Legends of Wrestlemania, but not the other way around (can't import Hogan into SvR09, for example). The only problem is that I found out Ted DiBiase Jr is part of a downloadable pack, so I'd basically have to pay an extra $4.99 for him, a couple generic wrestlers (Evan Bourne and Charlie Haas) and an alternate outfit for Jericho... Although now that I mention that, I can have Jericho beat down Piper, Snuka, and Flair in multiple outfits . Will have to create Steamboat...

I think it's definitely worth it to at least rent SvR 09 though, to have Big Show vs Andre, Cena vs Hogan, Triple H vs Hunter Hearst Helmsley (wait... what?), etc. Once I'm done with the single player and unlockables and stuff, it'll be a big plus to be able to cross current wrestlers with the classics, especially when friends are over.

The create-a-legend feature is going to be another thing that makes the game worth it... Not that it's any different than SvR create-a-legend modes, I already made Sid Justice and plan on making Macho Man, Ricky the Dragon, Demolition, and some others. Not sure exactly who yet, but it'll be fun. You then have to build up the characters and add attribute points via the Legend Killer game mode.

They really could have hit this one out of the park if they got the gameplay down. Like I said before, I like it but can definitely see why others wouldn't be too big on it.

I played the demo and was finally getting it. It's fun. Still can't beat Andre the Giant. I can totally see this being a party game. I should have it soon. I'll make Tito Santana AND Bad News Brown.

I'd make Marty Jannetty but I'm pretty sure they don't have the stuff to properly make the Rockers' outfits...

One other cool feature is that it supports custom soundtracks, so you can go onto iTunes and download tracks from the WWE CD's and include the proper songs with your created wrestlers.

I think the DLC for games is ridiculous and it's starting to get out of hand. The sad part is... is that it's just the "beginning" of all things.

SvR 2009. THQ intentionally left out the extra few wrestlers so that they can charge people an extra 5 bucks for it.

When I got Street Fighter IV, they only have one available costume to wear. It turns out that they had another set of costumes as a DLC. The only problem is, they're releasing the "alternate" costume in 5 sets. Each set is only for like 5 fighters. So in total, it's 20 freaking bucks for the ones that are desperate enough to have them wear another outfit to fight in.

The sad part is, I'm sure that half of the people who did buy SF IV will buy the DLC.

Isn't it the same for Halo 3, Call of Duty, Fallout 3... etc? They intentionally charge for the DLC for the ones that want to play in new maps =\

Hunter Hearst Helmsley rules! It's crazy to see how much HHH has improved though if you look back on his career.

I look forward to playing it at the Wrestlemania party =D
