We talked about this one a little bit in another thread, but the demo is now available for download on XBOX Live and probably PSN, so I figure it's time for its own thread... I'm not quite sure what to make of it yet. It's definitely growing on me, but $60... eh... still undecided.
I've been looking forward to this game for a while, mostly because of the strong roster of old WWF legends (minus Macho Man and Demolition), but I was really skeptical of the new control scheme. The first couple times I played the demo I can't say I was a fan, but the more I play it the more I like it. There are two playable matches, Hogan vs Andre and The Rock vs Steve Austin.
It definitely has a much more arcade-y, button mashing style than Smackdown vs Raw games, and again at first I wasn't too big on that but now I don't see it as a bad thing at all. I can see it being a love-it-or-hate-it type of thing. It's pretty damn fun, even though I can't figure out how to run. The grapple system also works pretty well with the random button indicator telling you what to push... Kind of hard to explain but I like it.
For me, whether or not I buy it may boil down to the different game modes and how well they incorporate footage of old Wrestlemanias into the game.
Anyone else try the demo out yet? If so, what'd you think? If not, give it a shot.
